That number belongs to Matt's partner and she is currently self isolating and fielding texts. She can't help. Think for a second. If your normal take away's number was engage...d, would you message them on Facebook?
We get it, you're worried and scared, but take a moment to think about how you would behave if you were stood outside our shop. Would you try to push in? Would you stand outside and shout loudly that it's your birthday and you need to be served? We really hope you wouldn't.

Our family and dedicated team of staff want to make sure that through this lockdown period our community is able to keep some sense of normality in their lives.

It's still cash only (this is a really unprecedented situation, we have ordered a card reader, but you have to understand that we have to go through financial and security checks and get it installed. As soon as we have it up and running we will shout).
In the meantime, if you want a delivery and are happy to pay in cash, we can either deliver to your door/window or leave it outside and collect the payment from the doorstep.

Right you lovely lot.
We figure day 1 of homeschooling might have been a bit fraught and we thought we’d set an art project.
If you have kids at home who are a bit bored and want to be creative, we’d love them to design posters for our front windows.
... We always have things in the window, so it feels a bit bare without them and we want to stop people from trying to knock on the door.

We’re closing our take away at VC Jones as we don’t want to encourage this behaviour. From now on it will be delivery only for the distance and time limits needed to keep the food warm.
It’s been a fast-moving situation and we had to judge what was happening. Yes, there will be people who will give us stick for being open this weekend. We wanted to see if it was workable. It isn’t. Our staff and family have been stood outside all day telling people to separate (and we’re prou...d that we didn’t feature in the queueing wall of shame and that the police were happy) but we can’t reasonably or morally continue to have the take away open.
