Cold but beautiful on our first Coast to Coast ride of the season!

We rented a pair of road bikes for a few days of self-guided touring around the North Lakes region. The bikes were new and well set-up, Richard was happy to arrange for drop-off and collection around our schedule, and he was actively looking for feedback on how anything could be improved.

Touring with Velocene was an adventure I'll never forget. As a sports enthusiast but by no means a 'cyclist', I was slightly nervous about embarking on a week long tour with limited previous experience, but I needn't have worried. Richard and the team at Velocene took care of everything, from the planning and preparation stages through to support and coaching throughout the tour itself. Richard and his team are skilled at designing their tours to suit all abilities (on our tour we had both relative novices and experienced cyclists) while at the same time maintaining a sense of group camaraderie which made the experience so memorable. I could tell that a lot of effort had been put into route planning to ensure we had the most scenic experience. Richard and his team rode along with us at all stages offering support and guidance and bike mechanics were on hand throughout just in case. I cannot recommend Richard and the team at Velocene highly enough - I'll be booking another adventure again soon!

The cycling tour with Richard was really impressive. He systematically prepared all the schedules and routes and focused on making our friends feel the wonderful nature during cycling tour. Richard always stood by us silently and sometimes taught us the precious value of challenge and adventure saying his previous experiences. He also did a good job of fixing the bike that occurred during the cycling tour, and our cycling tour was very safe so that we fully enjoy the times. Already missing the days we cycled together. Huge thanks to Richard for an fantastic Cycling tour. I can't say enough good things and would highly recommend anyone who wants to take on a cycling tour to book with Richard(Velocene Adventures).

Rich has lead me on several adventures and I have never been disappointed. A great, thoughtful and sensible leader who keeps an eye on the person at the back whilst simultaneously directing the front to victory!! I would definitely recommend joining the PeLebon!

Recently completed to Coast to Coast. Richard from Velocene was a superbly professional leader, always smiling and very friendly. He even baked cake for us to fuel us up the hills! What an absolute gem 😊

I have been on many tours led by Richard and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them! They have been well organised, and the routes are always beautiful. Richard is extremely supportive and will always go the extra mile to ensure everyone has a fantastic time. I can’t wait to go on another tour and would definitely recommend it!

Hired a gravel bike with a rear child seat for a week's holiday in the Lakes. Arrangements made with the exchange of a few emails and advance payment ahead of our trip. Collected bike and accessories from car park near Penrith station, and set off! I followed the map Velocene gave me along the coast to coast (C2C) route to Keswick and then on to where we were staying. Very well signposted route. The bike was ideal for our day trips to Honister, Whinlatter, Castlerigg stone circle, etc. The only thing to make cycling on holiday in the north lakes better would be more bicycle parking and places to refill water bottles - no complaints about Velocene.
