Wow what a lovely hotel!!! I booked a night this here for my husband and myself after going to the theatre. We weren’t disappointed, we were upgraded to the penthouse suite which was just fabulous and so had a great night, the staff were lovely and the standard of cleanliness in the hotel was first class. Can’t wait to visit again.

Warm and friendly staff. Thanks to you all for making us feel at home and especially the young lady for her recommendation of the cocktails which were to die for. They couldn't do enough for us throughout the evening. Our meal and service last night was amazing. Highly recommend look forward to dinning with you in the near future.

Undoubtedly the best food in the Village and the choices for people with allergies is good and the chef will adjust the ingredients on some of the dishes without the food losing the flavour.

Myself and three of my girly friends stayed here on Friday, both rooms were very clean. The decor in our room (25) was exactly styled how I like.

The guys on reception were very attentive as we didn’t have any milk in the incredibly well stocked mini bar fridge and they brought it before the receiver on the phone was replaced.

They even showed us some of the other rooms.

Me and my husband came to stay here for 2 nights to celebrate our 10th year anniversary. All I can say is that we were treated amazingly. Nothing was too much effort, and the extra little add ons were just magical. I Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone I know going to Manchester. Thank you for giving us such an enjoyable get away. �

Lovely meal with friends 40th there was 15 of us the service was excellent and the food and drinks staff was very polite would come again which that was my first time thank you

Loved our stay at the velvet its a beautiful hotel, all the staff were very lovely and very helpful. And the cocktails were amazing enjoyed at happy hour for buy one get one free.

I stayed here last night with the mrs and it was just a lovely hotel to be in. From the moment we arrived we were looked after by a gentleman who made us feel welcome and was happy to help. The room was gorgeous, clean and had everything we needed. The balcony was private, the bath was big enough for four people, and the bed was extremely comfy. We had a meal downstairs at the restaurant and it was simply beautiful. I honestly couldn’t fault our experience at this hotel and we are already planning on coming back.

Fabulous meal after the theatre this afternoon! First time in 5 years, (since being diagnosed with coeliac disease) I've been able to have a gluten free pizza in a restaurant! And gluten free beer, which was lovely too! Superb staff, friendly and attentive. My two friends enjoyed their meals and drinks too - will DEFINITELY be returning. I've been many times before, but not for a very long time! Thank you all so much for a fabulous time! x

Absolutely love the new decor and the re vamp that the bar and restaurant have had. Good menu, great food and friendly attentive staff that make you feel really welcome. �

Absolutely blew us away! Beautiful room (understatement) with a free upgrade. It was my boyfriends birthday so ordered prosecco to be in the room and we even had balloons!! The restaurant was amazing! Best burger and steak I honestly think I've ever had! The staff we're amazing and so helpful. Honestly cannot wait to visit again. Lovely clean room with a GIANT BATH and such a cute balcony over looking the canal.

2nd time I've been now and we went for mothers day. Food was really good again and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Everybody really enjoyed themselves, but that might have been happy hour on the cocktails till 7pm. I would definitely recommend this place if for a couplely night or a meal with the family!

We had a really good stay at Velvet for my boyfriend's birthday the room was beautiful and the staff were incredibly helpful. I just didn't get a great night's sleep as the room we were in (32) the blinds didn't block out a lot of the light which made it hard to sleep. Other than that it was perfect. Maybe change the blinds or provide eye masks :)

The restaurant is very well laid out, and the food was excellent, with very friendly staff. However I think they forgot our main course as it took about 40 minutes to come out, then forgot to give us knives and forks � Overall a good experience.

Nice food and good service, but cheapest bottle of wine £19 and an extra £3 for my husband to have some plain boiled rice with his fish curry - surely that should have been included. Basically, nice enough but a fairly ordinary meal worked out rather expensive.

A long time since my last visit however, it was very nice indeed was impressed with the nice fresh look the quality and quantity of the food and customer service. Oh and the seating is so comfortable none of those awful benches of yesteryear!

Came at lunch time had had an amazing few drinks sitting in the sun. Waitress was lovely. Then returned in the evening and saw a 241 cocktail offer advertised on menu which was not displayed at lunch. Went into order and very rude bar woman with dark brown curly hair said the deal isn’t on because it’s a bank holiday. 1) It’s not a bank holiday 2) your menu doesn’t say subject to T+Cs so you should technically honour it. This is false advertising. Really disappointed. Feel you should get a new evening manager.
