Ventnor Winter Gardens Description

The newly refurbished Winter Gardens is alive once again. With it's 500 + capacity auditorium, it is undoubtedly now one of the largest entertainment venues the island has to offer!
It's crisp new look compliments well the traditional menu using fresh, local produce with a modern culinary twist.
Freshly ground coffee and scrumptious homemade cakes make it a perfect pit stop on the way to the beach or the vintage town of Ventnor only a few hundred yards away. Or better yet, take advantage of it's fully stocked bar and sit for a while to watch the sun go down over one of the most breathtaking views of the Island, whilst sipping on an authentic sunset rum punch cocktail!
The Winter Gardens has it all. . . .come and see.

The dinner event of the year which combines a three course meal with classic comedy action, as Basil, Sybil and Manuel do their very best to look after you in their typical crazy style.
Chaos and mayhem will be served up in large portions and are very likely to interrupt proceedings. But all should end well, as the stars of hotel and catering management do everything they can to keep the evening on course.
Expect a big fun night out in a friendly party atmosphere, with enjoy...ment always at the top of the menu. A show that guarantees to reach chuckle muscles you never knew you had.
The event is suitable for 16+.

On our regular fortnightly Acoustic Nights Greg Barnes brings together some of the best acoustic artists in the south for an informal evening session.
This session features Leon C, a contemporary folk singer songwriter from the safest suburb in Hampshire. Leon C writes his own original style of 60s Folk Revival inspired contemporary folk music. His debut album Please, marks the beginning of a transition into adult life. The songs are what Leon has lived and felt and seen and thought. Expect realisations in strummed Epics and thoughts in Intimate fingerpicked ballads. Leon’s poeticism and 10 years of guitar experience has given the 17 year old comparisons to Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Paul Simon. Well worth seeing before he makes the big time!
Admission is free and there will be an open mic session towards the end of the evening.

Went to winter Gardens to pick up tickets for The Dick Taylor night ,12th Des. While there had a meal . Having cleared and opened up the bar floor is great.. Food excellent, sun came through the big glass front. The service was on the button . Did not realise the parking to the rear , which has put me off in the past. Hope more people realise what a great venue it is and that it is availiable for other than music , Hope to meet up with some old friends. Not been to Ventnor in a while dew to having both hips replaced. looking forward to Friday. Geoff Hughes.

User

Went there for Mothers Day and had a delicious meal. The poor staff were rushing around and still smiling. Lovely atmosphere, the food and service was Excellent. Looking forward to going there again. Highly recommended x

User

We recently had lunch at Ventnor Winter Gardens and were delighted at the service and the quality of the food. My husband and I both follow a grain free diet and the staff catered for us very well. My husband enjoyed the Ventnor Bay crab salad and I had chicken skewers with beautifully cooked baby white beetroot. Add the lovely view over the sea and you have a very enjoyable dining experience. We will definitely be going back!

User

So pleased we managed to catch the final performance of Cats. What a stunning show; beautifully choreographed with an immensely talented cast and a huge amount of energy. It was very hot in the theatre, and the performers must have been melting in their Lycra and fake fur, but their enthusiasm didn't flag for a second. Highlights for me were the dance routine to 'McCavity's Not There', the two girls were incredibly agile and beautifully coordinated. Paul Stevens' moving portrayal of Gus the old theatre cat ensured there wasn't a dry eye in the house, although there was a brief moment of levity when, during a momentary silence on stage, a child in the audience called out 'miaow'. The crowd laughed, and Paul looked out into the auditorium with the merest flick of an eyebrow and a well-timed dramatic pause, then carried on like the old trouper he is!

I was stunned by (and very envious of)Amanda Barnley's amazing voice. Her rendition of 'Memories' had me searching for a tissue and I suspect I wasn't the only one.

Really enjoyed John Abraham's portrayal of Rumpus Cat, and we were VERY impressed with his cartwheel and forward roll. Not bad for an old...I mean, a man in his middle youth

An exceptional production; the cast well deserved the standing ovation they received at the finale.

Great service. We especially love the kids parties such as the Valentine's Ball and Halloween parties!

Such hard work put in to them!

Great entertainment watching your securities eyes light up simultaneously. As the synapses in their brain sparked up to fuel the left over brain cells (maybe three, four at most) they checked their body language. Comparing primitive poses. Aggressive stances at the ready. This is critical for working out solutions, or pushing out trapped wind. Real pressing problems they’d be approached with that night like- what to do if their stamp runs out of ink and how to count to 10. The lack of intelligence made my night. THANK YOU WINTER GARBAGE!

User

Attended as a seller at Tanya's Networking charity awareness for Clapa event,

and will be back for the Decades of Decibels on the 27th May. We enjoyed super service with tasty food and hot drinks, looking forward to bar service next time. So pleased to see this lovely venue on the seafront being used again for community and music events.

User

Absolutely fabulous afternoon seeing Celtic Connections! Last Orders were great, The Crew really got everyone going and Wight Hot Pipes was the icing on the cake. It would be great to see this again , an evening gig would attract more people.

We stayed at Ventnor in 1963 for our honeymoon when it was a seaside town with a pier and a working railway. It was a little sad to find a few fishing boats and a town with shops closing and some in poor fettle. We would loved to have come back with our past happy memories and found it still thriving.

User

Sunday Roast Dinner was good and I was excited about a dessert that was included, however, they didn’t have my first or second choice and I was forced to have ice cream, not asked what flavour and when that came I didn’t like it, so didn’t actually get any dessert. It was very full, granted it was a Sunday lunchtime but there were not enough staff and a lot of people complaining, it seems to me that there needs to be a different system put in place when there is a matinee on, people were ordering drinks and food from the same bar, and the queue was very long, some people were panicking about orders they may not get that they had already paid for before the show started.

Very chaotic, needs a re-think.
