The best bar in Truro - great hostess and team behind the bar and in the kitchen - fabulous garden (especially in summer, but lots of heating in winter, too!) and a range of rooms inside to suit mood and purpose. Food is extraordinarily good value : a snack for under a fiver, a meal for 7.50. Huge range of wines,spirits and beers to suit every pocket.

Tapas was amazing - specially loved the pork belly - secret garden is gorgeous - recommend

I would highly recommend this venue for an event. The room upstairs was perfect for our hen party. All the staff were brilliant before and during night. Thank you to everyone at Vertigo!

I would highly recommend Vertigo for parties/events. We had such a fabulous night here for my hen do on Saturday! Thank you so much for the team for looking after us - especially Martin! We had lovely food, drinks, lots of dancing with music of our choice and the upstairs room entirely to ourselves. It was great ��

Highly recommended. . 5* food and cocktails to ravish the taste buds! Absolutely hooked to this amazing place!! Fantastic staff and beautifully relaxed venue! The menu speaks for itself and will leave your mouth watering with decisions! Freshly cooked and made to order.. the food will have you coming back again..... and again... and again � xx

Had a superb veggie brunch here yesterday! The staff couldn't have been more accommodating - I got my eggs fried with a crispy bottom as requested! Heating was turned up when I mentioned I was cold. Will definitely be back.

Great selection of wine and the owners are both knowledgeable and friendly. More places like this in Truro please!

Great lunch: 2 tapas dishes for £7.50 so my mum and I both had the Calamari and such a big portion and cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and very polite. We will be back soon so glad I have found this place!

Great bar and staff and a lovely beer garden, right little sun trap.

Great atmosphere was celebrating my daughters graduation. Tapas was delicious lots of selection. Staff where brilliant so helpful nothing to much trouble. Thank you for making our night so special. Bryon thank you for your staff and treating us to all your knowledge. Will def be back

Place seems to keep changing hands so review is probably pointless. Menu was poor on this visit and not available after 7 it now seems. Garden is the selling point for us so will probably return again though.

What is it with drinking establishments in Truro? You spent a fortune buying a glass or two of wine or beer and then they refuse to serve you anymore because, in their opinion, you've had too much! These places don't deserve custom. They all have an arrogant attitude.

So sad as was looking forward to eating in this place, nice surroundings and lively laid back atmosphere, 40 minute wait for food, chicken wings, chicken dippers and chicken wrap, only four groups in here and only one other person eating, offered free drink to apologies and then when food eventually came it was so very disappointing, upon complaining you really should have offered to refund some of the meal, very disappointing customer service :((

Not impressed. Have been here a couple.of times in the past and it's been fairly good. The outside area is great, it has to be said. However, we ordered the sirloin steak in ciabatta bread and instead of a steak each, sliced, as we've had before, today we were served a few thin strips which amounted to half a steak each, at best on what appeared to be yesterday's ciabatta, as well as yesterdays limp, brown salad. Probably won't be returning.

Kick started our evening in town off at this place last night with our nieces , my sister-in law, and one our nephews and few of our nieces friends for a birthday celebration. OMG , I couldnt get over how exstreamly expensive everything in this this place was , including the Food . We didn't eat anything in here , but it was such a shame as it spoilt things a bit for us . Lovely place , but Sorry I will not be returning back here again . £8.00 for a cocktail , what a Rip off ! Sooo Glad I didn't have one !

On Friday 20th November, a group of friends and myself went to The Old Ale House, where one of our party was asked to leave for being too drunk. Our group left shortly after with no issues. We had planned to visit Vertigo next that evening so headed over. We entered the venue and made our way to your outdoor area to find a table so we could go back and buy some drinks. Upon finding a table a tall security gentleman approached us and said "I don't know how the f*** you guys got past me, but I'm going to have to ask you all to leave." So as asked, and not to cause a scene we did as we were told to do. Our friend had left an item of clothing on the table outside so we asked if we could retrieve it. When we asked if we could fetch it the security man replied with "I don't give a f***, go and f*****g get it and get the f*** out."



The person he spoke to that night happened to be my wife, the night I was out with my friends for my birthday celebrations. That is why I've left this review on Facebook, Google, Tripadvisor and Yell.



I didn't go to Vertigo every week, maybe once every month or two. I went to Vertigo because it had a nice atmosphere, however after the experience on Friday night I'd be reluctant to return. Terrible way to treat your customers. Can gladly say I won't be returning anytime soon. My money will be better spent elsewhere.







The owner should also take note at the very beginning I state that ONE MEMBER of our party was ejected from the ONE and ONLY establishment we'd visited that evening. We entered Vertigo through the front door entrance and weren't refused entry by any of their members of staff. I'd encourage the owner to check their CCTV footage and get the facts correct before replying to my review again.

I got served a cold, raw beef burger here, the meat was bleeding into the bun!! Staff were disinterested and looked bored to death and were rude about my refund. Have since emailed and they too have been ignored. Do not recommend this place for food or atmosphere!
