Very Cherry Designs Description
Some time ago, after whipping up some Christmas presents for a few friend's children, I discovered my passion for sewing. I set up Very Cherry and dabbled in creating lots of different items for use mainly around the home.
As with a lot of creative processes, Very Cherry helped me discover exactly where my strengths lay, in cushions, more specifically, free motion machine embroidered images on said cushions.
Clients come to Very Cherry to supply them with beautiful embroidered cushions with popular culture imagery that is difficult to find products for elsewhere.

This embroidered replica of the beautiful Queen Eleanor mural in #stonystratford #miltonkeynes has been my most complex piece to date, totalling around 250 hours of work. 2000 yards of Egyptian cotton thread have been used in the floral pattern, the monument and the coins, making it the largest free motion embroidery I've ever created. Queen Eleanor herself has been appliquéd in a variety of fabrics including William Morris designs.

Over the last few months I've been working hard on recreating the cover of Ebony Buckle 's single 'The Mermaids Said No' (if you haven't heard it, you definitely should!). After burning her beautiful face and then having to hack it off and start again, I'm rather pleased with how she's come out!! I've not been able to sew as much as I'd like to of late 😭 but I managed to make my daughter this skirt which both she and I are very happy with! I'm going to add pockets and then make myself one out of the gorgeous lobster and crab fabric that I'm desperate to use! 🦀

So I should probably stop this quiet hiatus and actually post something! I'll be busy working on some named cushions tomorrow, taking full advantage of the beautiful fabrics and felt I can get at work! This is one of the colour schemes I'll be offering in future, lime green felt letters on this gorgeous dinosaur fabric 😍
Very pleased with today's block! I'm biased but I can't recommend the classes @thebramblepatch enough. Hi everyone, as you may have seen, Facebook has been making it increasingly difficult to get work out to a wider audience. I don't intend on stopping the use of it altogether, but I have found Instagram to be a really great platform to share my work.
