This Bank Holiday Sunday we will be hosting a walk in wine tasting with some excellent new wines just delivered this week! £3pp, from 1pm - 4pm, Darren will be here to talk you through the wines and we will provide a few nibbles included within the £3 admission! Our resident blues band on a Sunday will also follow at 5pm with 2 extra band members to make for an extra special bank holiday here at Vesuvio...

Welcome to this magical patch of land between Bordeaux and Spain. Nowhere else will you find wine that has such a strong relationship with its soil, its people, its food. These are wines that vary from village to village, with a plethora of ancient local grape varieties and familiar ones. They are a true expression of their place. £20 per ticket for this tasting, book early to avoid missing out!!

We called in on the off chance they'd have a table. We were greeted with a smile and showed to a table for two. We ordered a bottle of house Malbec which was smooth and very tasty. I had the pork belly and my goodness was it amazing. My partner had the duck and it was cooked to perfection.

The brothers who own the restaurant part are very warm and friendly and very talented. We would definitely recommend and we shall be eating there again. Thanks guys for a wonderful evening.

Love this place. Amazing selection of beers, a gin menu the length of a door (literally) and loads of wines. We always visit this place when down in Darlington and usually can't remember leaving it lol. The staff and owners are really friendly and really knowledgable.

It's my favourite place to chill out with good company, good wine and a bloody good cheeseboard. And my little dog is always welcome and is treat just as well as me (she prefers water on the rocks) � a big old 5�

I've only visited Vesuvio once but the experience was amazing. We booked a table for a meal and the chef was friendly and informative, he really made us feel welcome and right at home in the restaurant. Overall a great place for a bit of a treat, thanks to all the staff for making our night so enjoyable!

I've eaten here on three occasions and each time the food has been exceptional. I don't normally post reviews but seeing the grilling the place has had on here over produce, felt a positive rating was needed! Feel really lucky we have such a good eaterie in Darlington; there's not enough of them!

I love Vesuvio and have had lots of lovely evenings here. It's a bit special. I have eaten in the restaurant once and really enjoyed it. But its the gin and the wine that really make me go back! More power to your bottle opener guys. You make Darlington a better place.

A quirky environment but definitely super food and well worth a visit. Great value too

It's a lovely little bar , and I really enjoy going in . The service is always good and they have a great selection of gins . The only thing I don't agree with is that people sit or stand at the bar once they have been served thus stopping other customers getting served

Very poor decision to put foie gras on your menu in a town where even the council has voted against it, in a country where it is illegal to produce, for very good reasons

it is cruelty and ignorance you are profiting from , what kind of message is this for your restaurant to be standing for? please think about what you are doing and have some respect for your customers, and for animal rights

The so called 'production' of Foie Gras is banned in the UK for good reason! Geese are force fed corn through metal tubes which results in terrible injuries both to their throats & beaks! Their livers are inflated to highly abnormal sizes & then they are brutally murdered! Shame on you for supporting this barbaric practice & even worse for profiting from it!

I can't believe that you have on your menu Foie Gras, I'm sure you are well aware of the extreme torture which these ducks and geese are made to endure. It is a very cruel product, so cruel it is illegal to produce in the UK. Please do the right thing and remove it from your menu.
