Vicarage Park Community Centre

About Vicarage Park Community Centre

To develop and improve the VPCC Community Hall for the benefit of everyone in the local community without discrimination by race, religion, gender, age or disability.

Vicarage Park Community Centre Description

Vicarage Park Community Centre (VPCC) was formed in January 2014 by members of the local community in Poulton-le-Fylde. We are raising funds to restore, repair and develop a former Church Hall and turn into a community hub for the benefit of all sections of the local community.

The building has been closed for three years and is now in a very dilapidated state of repair. We need to raise £300, 000 in order to restore the fabric of the hall to a safe and useable standard. Last year marked the Hall’s 90th birthday. It is a much loved Arts and Crafts style building that had been in continuous use since it first opened as St. Chad’s Church Hall in 1925. Before it closed it was the focus for a wide variety of community activities and was quite literally the ‘heart and soul of Poulton-le-Fylde’. We have successfully raised over £30K in our first year with local fundraising but we need more and are determined to try to re-open as soon as possible - we need your support so that we can bring back life and love to the Hall with community services for the old and young, energetic and infirm, those that want entertaining, educating, social interaction, celebrating etc, etc.
Please help and donate to our cause.

WE HAD A GREAT DAY AT THE NEW POULTON FARMERS' MARKET YESTERDAY - SO WE'RE SHARING SOME OF OUR SNAPS!!!
Hello, everyone, we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all our stallholders for making the market such a success and to the people of Poulton and surrounding areas for supporting the event. The day started very early with trucks and trailers arriving at the Community Hall to set up their pitches both outside and inside the hall in time for a 9am start.
We were pleased to... welcome back our old friend John Holt, with his quality farm fresh lamb, beef and bacon together local farmer Peter Willacy with his fresh Chicken and Turkey. Our two stalwarts were complemented by other stall holders offering fresh fruit and veg, eggs and honey, fresh fish, cheese and craft baked pies and cakes. We also had a number of local craft makers displaying their creations. Light refreshments were served inside the Hall by Mary Kay and her team and the fabulous Griddle Girls served up hot snacks and bacon barm cakes from their trailer outside in the car park.
This was the first of a regular series of Farmers' Markets at the Community Hall on the last Saturday of each calendar month - except for a special Christmas Farmers' Market to be held on Saturday 21st December. We do hope that you enjoyed the event and the quality of the food on sale - The NEXT FARMERS' MARKET will be on SATURDAY 29th JUNE, please spread the word and ask your friends and neighbours to visit the market to support our local producers and the local economy.

DIYET & LOVE SOLDIERS AT VPCC COMMUNITY HALL
What an awesome experience last night at the concert by Diyet and the Love Soldiers in the Community Hall. The atmosphere was truly electrifying with the twinkling fairy lights, table candles and Canadian flags. Diyet's lyrics and the bands music transported us across the Atlantic to the Yukon in Northwest Canada where Diyet was born and raised in her native homeland. She performs as a trio, Diyet & the Love Soldiers, with husband ...and collaborator, Robert van Lieshout on guitar and foot percussion and multi-instrumentalist, Bob Hamilton. We've included a couple of snaps and a short video for those who were unable to make it. PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE. Big thank you to the Band for a memorable concert, Sue Thompson our events manager for making it happen, our volunteer crew for serving refreshments and running the bar - and not forgetting Spot on Lancashire for including our venue in their Arts Programme. Pictured in the group snap are; Chris Gannon, - VPCC Trustee, Diyet van Lieshout, Robert van Lieshout, Sue Thompson - Events Manager, and Bob Hamilton.
