Teach your dog a new trick!
There are 100s of simple tricks you can teach to get your dogs brains working, improve communication skills and develop the bond you already have.🐢🧠❀
... Treacle learnt to play the role of a dead dog (albeit one with a wagging tail and lots to sayπŸ˜‚πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ) when I shot her with my gun. πŸΆπŸ”«
(This video was taken after 3 x 10min training sessions, now it's just a case of 'polishing-up' her new trick, teaching her to remain quiet and in position for a little longer).
Go on, give it a go! For how-to tips or trick ideas, check out Zak George's free youtube videos: https://youtu.be/PS8sTLqKfA8

ISOLATION GAMES #03
Scatter your dogs dry food/ treats inside an old towel and roll it up for them to sniff out and find.
(If your dog hasn't played scent games such as this one, or 'find it' before - try scattering the food and rolling up the towel while they're watching so they know there is something tasty to find).
... Sensory games like this encourage a dogs natural behaviour. Allow them to use their fabulous sense of smell and clever brains to problem solve and work out how to get the food they want.
Go on, give it a go, your dogs will thank you for it!🐢🐽

Treacle's ready for an afternoon nap after spending all morning walking and playing chase in the fields with her doggy friends whose humans either work for the emergency services or are classed as key workers.🐾
Thank you for continuing to go out to work, putting yourselves and your loved ones at risk of catching this awful virus, in order to help others and keep us safe. Your hard work and dedication doesn't go unnoticed!β€πŸ‘β€

The toilet roll challenge! 🐢🧻
It's likely you've got a stash of loo roll somewhere in the house right now, so why not put them to use? This fun 'challenge' is a great way to burn off your dogs excess energy (providing they're fit and healthy and don't have any joint issues etc). You can also get your kids involved in re-building the walls and encouraging your dog(s) over.
... If you run out of loo rolls - improvise! I only had 6 rolls which made one row in the doorway of my house, so I used 2 rolled up bath towels on top of the loo rolls and wha-laa!!

Simple brain games like 'Find it' are dead easy to teach and you don't need any fancy equipment - just a handful of treats will do. This particular game can be done outside in your garden/yard (if you have one), inside around your home, or even on a shaggy rug!
As we're currently restricted to one dog walk per day, spending 10minutes a couple of times per day teaching a new trick or playing a brain game is the perfect way to get them using their senses (just as they would on a walk) therefore tiring them out mentally and preventing them becoming restless, frustrated and demonstrating negative behaviours.

❀** CLIENTS **❀
I'd just like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, understanding and cooperation during this time.
In order to manage the sudden increase in demand (due to many clients working for the emergency services/ being key workers), this weekend I had to alter dogs usual walk days/ times so I could fit in additional dogs, allowing their owners continue to work.
... I was prepared for some people to understandably be unhappy with the new changes - however not one person complained! Everyone was flexible and super understanding to the needs of others during this uncertain time. I can not tell you how grateful I am, you really are the best clients!
Thank you again and I will look forward to seeing your beautiful dogs for some more fun-filled walks from tomorrow 🐢πŸ₯°πŸΎ

2nd walk - Snoop was far too busy exploring and following scents with his nose glued to the ground to pose for photos for his owners πŸ˜‚πŸΆπŸ½πŸΆπŸΎ

🐾🐢**CLIENTS PLEASE READ**🐢🐾
With regards the Corona virus I wanted to write a post to keep you all updated of how I aim to continue providing a reliable (germ-free) service.
Firstly, all dog walks WILL be going ahead as normal, unless I should find myself suddenly having the flu-like symptoms, to which unfortunately I will have no other option but self-isolate. If this is the case, you will be informed immediately! However, with the virus appearing to spread so rapidly, it m...ay be sensible to have a back-up plan of someone who can help with dog care, should I suddenly be unavailable.
If you, or anyone in your household finds yourselves having to self-isolate, I would appreciate it greatly if you could inform me as soon as possible so walks can be cancelled.
I will be washing my hands as soon I enter each address to collect/ drop off dogs. And inbetween washes I will regularly be using antibacterial gel to hopefully prevent the spread of any germs.
I will temporarily be using my own dog leads, harnesses and towels for your dogs, so that I do not transfer any germs onto your leads/harnesses/towels etc, for you to then pick up. My leads and harnesses will be washed each night ready for the following days walks.
The car in which the dogs travel in along with the equipment inside, i.e. dog crates, beds etc, will be disinfected and washed on a nightly basis.
As it stands currently, I think for my business it's just a case of taking a sensible approach, being aware and monitoring the situation daily.
If any of my lovely clients find themselves working from home and your financial situation isn't affected, I ask that you please let me continue walking your beautiful dogs as normal. As unfortunately for small businesses like mine, the sudden loss of so many clients would result in a huge financial loss which consequently could lead to the unthinkable.
If anyone has any questions or needs to speak with me, please don't hesitate to send me a message or call me on 07583763858. I will post further updates when necessary.
Thank you for reading and for your continued support.❀
