Would you like to volunteer at Victoria Baths?
We need help at our Sunday Open Days which take place between April and November, and the Wednesday afternoon public tour days. Or if you have talents in maintenance, gardening or decorating, you can help give the building some TLC. We couldn't manage without our dedicated team of volunteers – we'd love you to join us!
Please feel free to reply to this post, call us on 0161 224 2020 or email our Operations Coordinator alan@victoriabaths.org.uk

What an amazingly unique piece of history and hire venue!! So glad I voted for it to get funding all those years ago, and looking forward to seeing it completely renovated. Well done to all those involved with the restoration, and keep up the fundraising üòä

What a beautiful historic place, I was so emotional visiting where I learnt to swim as a child in the 1960's Mr William Branker taught me with patience and kindness, I'll never forget those pools. I had a swim pass and went weekly with all my friends especially in the summer holidays . Can't believe I did not notice the fantastic turnstile entrance, stained glass windows and mosaic floors. I was in wonder yesterday watching my youngest son and husband swim in the amazing gala pool. However nothing can compare to the last theatrical performance of Romeo and Juliet I saw there , I was spellbound- you simply must go to this jewel in Manchester s crown.

User

What a beautiful building! Felt so lucky to get the chance to swim here yesterday. I wish you all the luck with the restoration.

User

We held our wedding at Victoria Baths in June this year. The venue is fantastic and the event organizers couldn’t have been more helpful. What a day and what a venue. Highly recommend.

User

We come yesterday for our friends wedding, what an amazing venue! Staff where super pleasant, the drinks where not over priced and the acoustics of the room made the band sound even more fabulous. ÔøΩ

User

Such an amazing building. Loved the stories of the people who have been affiliated with the baths over the years. It was my first visit yesterday, but definitely not my last!

Piece of Mancunian history

Oh what a fantastic day, so enjoyed jumping in as one big group, beautiful pool, fabulous opportunity and numbers in the pool meant everyone had room to enjoy their swim. Atmosphere was warm and friendly and everyone was chatty. Great

My husband and myself attended the gin festival on the 2nd April, for the very first time.

The venue is an amazing place and the festival was run fantastically. Thank you to all involved. We will be attending more festivals held at the Victoria baths in Manchester. Such a beautiful building.

Memories of my Saturday morning swimming lessons with Mr Branker, I used to hate it. I once swam in the Gala and was winning but stood up just before the end and was disqualified, my mother and Mr Branker we’re livid. He used to use a pole and run down the pool in front of you and shouting for you to get a move on, I was scared to death. The only consolation was the hot chocolate and sweets in the canteen later

Lovely Open Day on 13th May; informative and interesting guided tour of 1 hour. Beautiful building especially the stained glass windows.

User

I was drawn to this spectacular building by the 'How to Swim: Treading Water' conceptual art intervention on 9th July. The art was special and engrossing and was site specific to this wonderful building. I am so impressed with the community of committed volunteers whose vision is to restore the baths to their majestic best.

User

I used to swim at galas here in the 70s. It’s a beautiful building & it’s great to see it being used again.

User

Came to the Gin Festival and Victoria Baths for the first time last night. Totally impressive venue, brilliantly well organised event and all staff were totally on top of it, courteous, helpful and fun. Food was great, music was great, company was great (oh, yes, that was us!) Wasn't cold. Didn't mind standing, loved seeing old cubicles and beautiful tiles. Just needed a few more, slightly less cramped toilets but the loos were the only queue I waited in all night so totally 5 stars for both venue and event!

User

Attended the gin festival. What a fantastic venue such a shame it is no longer used as a swimming pool. A great piece of history. The festival was a great day out. The staff and stall holders were all brilliant very knowledgeable nothing was too much effort. A very enjoyable day Cheers

User

Attended a wedding here yesterday and it was the most amazing venue which completely enhanced the whole service and made it a very special day. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about the building and the continuing restoration. Highly recommend for any kind of event.

User

Absolutely love this place. Victoria baths has very kindly hosted the annual Ward 84 party for the past 4 years and each year it doesn't disappoint. The building totally suits our needs and we certainly would not be able to hold such a special event anywhere else. Thank you to Chris, Martin and all the team for being so amazing and letting us descend on your building each year.

User

We took the tour today and have to say that the building is truly amazing. The volunteers and staff were friendly and helpful and the tour guide was so knowledgeable but I did feel a bit overwhelmed with the sheer amount of information given. We had a 13 year old with us so bite size pieces of interesting information as we moved through would have been ideal.
