The food was fine but the ladies toilets was another story i eventually found a toilet that didn't need flushing, after I used it that one didn't flush and then and this is terrible, not one of the taps was working i tried every one so i was unable to wash my hands, disgraceful and very unhygienic. I don't go to The Village Green very often, every time i do I find that the ladies isn't up to a high standard of cleanliness, when it was Modern China the ladies was always spotless.

Had family meal for granddaughters birthday last night 21/5/2018 to say I was disappointed is a understatement ribs were only Luke warm/ pitta bread was like plywood /Burger buns also rock hard/steaks not sizzling I was going to complain but talked out of it by my daughter and my partner as not to make a scene as far as staff go they are polite and friendly

The place smells, dirty tables (pud had only handful of people in. Ladies toilets only one toilet clean and had loo roll-all be it on the floor. Our medium steaks were well done, child’s Jacket potato with beans and cheese-,what a disgrace- desert spoon if that of congealed beans, a teaspoon of cheese. The side salad covered in onions - not most children’s first choice!

would not eat at this place again My partner had the fish and chips But had the larger portion called the Cod Father - Larger portion - Really - would love to have seen what size the regular portion was - He had beans instead of the peas Which were really dry and unedible and the fish didnt really taste that fresh either. I had the sizzling gammon and that was paper thin It was sizzling when it came out But it had been over cooked prior to it being bought out and as it was sizzling It was still cooking So this made it over cooked and tasted burnt. Well what can I say about the Black Cherry Eton Mess that I had Well for starters - Where the hell were the cherries I found strawberries and raspberries and blueberries and red currants But No Black Cherries If I was told there were no Cherries But only Summer fruits I wouldnt have minded But then to top it all off The fruit was still frozen

Okay here we go because this has been bugging me as a regular at The Village Green all year thank god I'm moving !! Every time I go in to the village green and order drinks from the mixed race lady behind the bar...she will ask me what I want from a distance (for some reason even though it isn't busy and she's one of 2 staff so I have to raise my voice???) She will then wonder off and start making my drinks before Ive even finished ordering leaving me talking to myself while she makes my drinks. Today I unusually ordered 2 single vodkas with ice and a dash of diet coke in each... she filled them right to the top which I clearly asked her not to do (raised my voice politely as she walked off to make my drinks this time before ide finished talking.. in hope she heard me) ... When I asked her to replace them as it wasn't what I asked for she pulled a funny face and gave me my drinks with what I would describe as 'a spit' of diet coke in and no ice in both.. obviously out of spite... I didn't ask her to replace them again as I felt bad for the older people waiting for a pint at the bar.

Possibly the most ignorant person I've ever been served by.. like many people I've worked as a barman in busy pubs and understand the job. Its frustrating but relatively easy and on this occasion it was quiet... She wasn't exactly young and naïve so I don't understand the rudeness... unnecessary

Last few times we have been it's been going down hill but thought I'd give it another try, benefit of the doubt. In general I think the staff have given up, tables and menus are dirty and sticky.

Ordered two 8oz Sirloin steaks cooked medium but got 2 fatty, gristly, 1cm thick what looked like cheap frying steak. It was mostly inedible, although I did manage to find about 2 mouthfuls of meat, my partner could not even find that. Chips were nice, as was the peppercorn sauce, but £10.95 is a high price for a rubbish steak.

Ordered wine, a bottle of Malbec. Bottle was completely covered in dust. 2 glasses, one was a bit dirty.

It's a shame because the food used to be quite nice but I don't think we'll be going again.

I would’ve give it a 5 star review but what an absolute joke!! Table booked for 13, 12 meals come out and my sister ends up sitting there watching us all eat. After 5 minutes I went to the bar and enquiries about the meal, was told it was being plated up. Further about another 4 minutes the meal finally come out, almost 10 minutes after everyone else had theirs so most of us was finished! Then we ordered puddings, we are still waiting after 40 minutes and are being told they are on their way out. Apparently they’ve had a load of orders, the place isn’t even busy, would hate to see the place when it’s full! Thought I’d give it another chance after we come when it had just opened, still crap!

Horrible place to go for food. 1st kids meal jacket potato = rock solid. Small spoon of beans and a sprinkle of cheese. 2nd kids meal sausage beans and chips. Food had been reheated in a microwave and sausages were rock solid. Adults meals 1 burger meal. Small portion of fries and 2 very well done beef burgers. 2nd meal was Salmon fajita... no wraps replaced with 'freshly cooked chips' = Stone cold.

Spoke to member of staff who went to speak to chef came back to be told he didn't cook it.. the bar staff came and did them.

After a half hearted apology from table staff and being told that it's like that all the time, I doubt I'll ever go back!
