We loved meeting Kenny today. This young dude isn't just wearing the t-shirt, he's living the dream!

We've had a ton of coasters newly delivered to the shop by the lovely Neil who has been busy making good use of our scratched and warped records which would otherwise have been heading for landfill (yes he's a bit like an eco-friendly Womble).
Come get 'em!

If you didn't catch Cockwomble's awesome video for Henchmen in our newsletter check it out here.
Simon (a long time musical cohort of Ali's) reckons it's the best use of Ali's facial hair ever and as such should chart at No1!

What a difference a day makes!
Never seen British people so excited about rain.
To celebrate Summer reverting back to type here's The Beatles 'Rain' The Beatles shot this promo for the song “Rain,” on outtake from the Revolver album that wound up as a B-side for the “Paperback Writer” single; offhandedly inventing the music video in the process.
... Enjoy!

We love the fact that our customers are passionate about their music and it's not unusual to see tattoos paying homage to a musical hero. It's not often though that a customer comes in to buy the record they are already celebrating on their right arm.
Here's Niall, who as you may have guessed is a little bit of a Kendrick Lamar fan. Niall you rock!!!

This is Kevin. He came into the shop to buy a Sex Pistols record and left wearing a Vinyl Revolution t-shirt featuring a quote from Johnny Rotten.
This was our first t-shirt featured by The Guardian. The Guardian has great taste and so does Kevin.
Kevin you rock!!!

Amazing night at Edinburgh Castle with Scotland’s two greatest bands Del Amitri and trashcan sinatras
A real pleasure to catch up with the Trashie’s John Douglas and meet the great man himself Justin Currie who gave us way more time than he needed to and graciously posed with one of our tote bags 😀
What a night. Thanks guys!

Without doubt the best, least pretentious, most beautifully presented, absolutely awesomely staffed record shop I have ever travelled across the world to visit! Great selection of new and old, some fantastic artworks (LOVE the teapot), and just a joy to visit. Thanks for being so welcoming. See you in 2019! x

User

What a discovery today ! It seemed that most of my discarded record collection from the 80's/90's was in here ! Time to rebuild that loved collection - great advice and my 12 year old wants to come back to start her own collection ! Look forward to hearing from you for my radio show on Hailsham FM :)

Went to Brighton to see From The Jam and took the opportunity to have a trawl around the many 2nd hand record shops. Found this place quite by accident and frankly it stood out. A bright and friendly atmosphere with no sense of some of the snobbery associated with some of these establishments. It's a new business so here's wishing you well and I'll definitely be back in the New Year.

User

Visited when in Brighton for a weekend away and can feel the enthusiasm for music and the desire to provide a great customer experience.would fully recommend and will visit again when next in Brighton.

User

This will be my go to record store from now on! Super friendly and helpful people who just really know and care about music

This isn’t just the best record shop in Brighton, it’s honestly the best record shop I’ve ever visited! The owners and staff are the friendliest group of people and always go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and make every visit just that extra bit more special. There’s such a lovely, relaxed vibe and the selection of old and new vinyl is really diverse and exciting. There’s absolutely no judgement or pretentiousness in this place, and I’ve happily bought everything from old school Bowie albums right through to Taylor Swift (and a lot in between), whilst always having a lovely chat and a laugh with the people who work here. Could not recommend this shop (the variety, the work ethics and the vibe they create within it) enough!! it’s my favourite place in the city!

User

The most beautiful record shop I ever seen!

The atmosphere inside is fabulous full of new and vintage records everywhere with a very friendly staff!

They started only 6 months ago and I wish them all the best for the future!

User

The moment you walk in there you're in for a treat !

Superb range of new and old vinyl plus associated merchandise and decent decks as well plus a really nifty cleaning service..I've had several now saved that I thought were gone for good.

The owners,Simon and his good lady are lovely folk and are genuinely passionate about what they do.

User

Such a good record store. Friendly and very helpful staff. And some absolute gems to be found! Nabbed a Sam & Dave record just as it was going in the news letter! Ha ha!

User

Stumbled on this little gem of a shop whilst visiting our son,and they helped us to put the finishing touches on our house refurb.

User

Stumbled across this store whilst walking the streets of Brighton. Thought I’d go in for a look, ended up purchasing a few items. The staff were great! They went the extra step to make sure my purchases would make it back to Australia safely. Thank you!

Starting to see vinyl everywhere, so wanted to dip the toe in. Got good advice instore, went online to do research, backed up that the Pro-Ject Carbon Espirit player was worth the stretch on budget. Went back and bought instore, but had an issue. Luckily I am local, and the guys instore did not hesitate to pop round with a new cable and PSU, luckily the new cable worked, and they helped set it up properly. This extra care is why everyone should buy local and independent whenever possible, it' s not just the price, but vinyl-revolution are extremely competitive as well. Been since to buy more vinyl and cleaning brush, always a great welcome and service.

And I am sold on the benefits of vinyl, and why it is rebounding. The first thing that has become clear, and knowledge I had but had never really practically associated it here, was that CDs are compressed, but vinyl is more-or-less lossless. This is backed up by my listening to-date. I am not the keenest music fan, more home cinema, but I have a few hundred CDs and all have been ripped lossless to WMA and FLAC. When I play back the digital files they sound great, but I have to play them quite loud to get where I can hear the highlights of the music. Immediately, I could hear vinyl at a lower output, but could hear the richer lowlights and highlights, and I know it's a cliche , but warmer and more musical. And then when you give it some volume, musically they soar. Needless to say I am quite surprised at this, it's somewhat revolutionary to me, that naturally always thought it's digital so it must be better, because 1s and 0s don't lie.

Now, don't get me wrong, I am not going to revert to buying the next modern compilation or artist release on vinyl. You will always revert here to just playing your favourite handful of tracks, and digital is perfect for this. But for playing an album comprising an older artists body of work, greatest hits from the vinyl era, old soul, and certainly musical soundtracks, which I want to collect more of, it will be a conscious choice to go vinyl. And no doubt get it at Vinyl-revolution.

Love this record shop, always something different each time I go in that I can add to my vintage collection. Well worth a weekly visit

Just visited the store for the second time. Been here already last year in july and it was the same welcoming atmosphere again.

Very friendly people, great collection of LP‘s, brillant store !!

I was served by Rachel, couldn't ask for better service. Great little store with a huge variety of vintage and new vinyls

Chances upon this amazing store, while in Brighton in search of a Fatboy Slim record to remember my visit, very warmly greeted by the lady upstairs and treacle the dog. Went downstairs for excellent help and chat by Simon, they make you feel extremely welcome. Do give yourself a few hours for crate digging here, a lot to see and hear! Thank you guys, see you next time I visit the B

Came up from Bournemouth for a random day out. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly staff member who explained the layout of the store to help us locate what we needed. Came away with a Janis Joplin album I'd been searching for for a while that was in great condition. Prices were what I expected whilst looking through what was for sale. Really great shop, definitely my first port of call when I visit Brighton again.

User

Beautiful shop, great records, and super friendly owners! Hope next time I'll find some Sonic Youth rare recording ! Keep going!

As a birthday treat I decided to go to Brighton to find myself some 'new' records to add to my collection. I am usually shy when I walk into a shop of any sort. I always hope that I can do my browsing without being disturbed. I entered this record store and I felt completely welcomed and forced, not from the dark side, to stick around for a bit. I am so glad I stopped here. I guess that the major retailers have lost the touch and forgot the meaning of customer service but after only one minute at the Vinyl Revolution I knew my way around the shop thanks to Alex and, more importantly, I felt like a valued customer - courtesy of Rachel.

I loved the David Bowie day charity initiative (black friday, eat your heart out). Felt gutted I couldn't afford The Congos vinyl, yes they had one in store. I found myself in the position where I had to pretend I didn't see a lot of records even though I had lifted them from the rack, turned them around to check the track list I already knew by heart, caressed them only to say 'it's not you, it's me'. I would be bankrupt, they seem to have most of the vinyls you are looking for - you have been warned! Thank you so much for today and for making my visit so unforgettable. P.S. I hope that the planned scaffolding in front of your shop never goes up. I'll be back!!! (The terminator said that)
