Making fragolina (similar to concord) grape purée for my favourite icing. Big question for all of you gorgeous followers: What do you want from my next cookbook? Which tips, recipes or concepts are you after? Do you want a coffee table book or a bible? Do you want a picture for every recipe or no photos at all? Do you want cake cake cake? Or seasonal baking? You see, I want to write the book that you want to own. I’m not doing it for me, but for you. I want to share as much as I can with you so you can be better bakers, have more fun in the kitchen and spend more time with your friends and family. Right?? Tell me what you want!!!!! 😘

Cloudy Misty Grey... California

Wild plum and blackberry Victoria sponge with @phoebe_von ‘s jam. Loveliest afternoon with mom, Phoebe, Maggie, Hazel, Lonzo and Frances. But then the kids went into sugar freak out mode. People always ask me if I bake a lot with my daughter. The truth is, I don’t. It’s too hard to keep her from eating too much sugar and that is really important to me. When she is older and understands moderation, I will really enjoy baking with her but right now I just think she is too young. Also because I just find it harder and harder to say no to this gorgeous little being x

Holiday starts here

We have moved in from apricots to plums this week. These gorgeous sweet and tart red plums are adorning almond polenta muffins and going into tarts this weekend. See you soon x thanks to @newtaste_newday (one of our lovely interns!) for the photo x

Wonderful place to chillout.

We love going for a good coffee and cake in the afternoon and tried out a number of different cafes during our stay in London. Violet was definitely the best one we went to. The cakes are delicious and the coffee is excellent. We spent ages sitting in the little court yard behind the cafe enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. We will be back!

Violet's recipes are simply divine. I have had the pleasure of tasting her baking from her own hands, as well as enjoying many recipes from the Violet cookbook that friends have prepared. Just last night I was kvelling over the Rye Chocolate Brownies - to die for!!!

The Violet aesthetic is simply beautiful. Quality ingredients, artfully prepared. Claire Ptak’s vision brings the best of California and melds it with traditional British fare. I love her use of natural ingredients to flavor and pigment her icings and use of wild flowers to decorate her cakes. Congratulations on the honor of preparing the Royal wedding cake. Well deserved.

Simple yet stunning, well worth a visit when in London

Really refreshing lemonade, tasty scone and (finally - as it never happened before in any other place) not-too-sweet cupcake. I'm definately coming back!

Really lovely little bakery, delicious simple food. Loved my little tour around the kitchen, it's so tiny I don't know how they work such magic in there.

I've been baking from the Violet cookbook.....made many a wedding/celebration cake using the fabulous red velvet recipe to great accolades. And the banana bread has saved b/bread for me....so delicious. I thought I saw there may be another cookbook out or coming? I will seek it out!

I had a cinnamon roll and a slice of banana bread at Broadway market. Perfect in all ways! Looking forward to visiting the cafe.

I found this little bakery a jewel on the Talkomi app. You can find more nearby bakery places like this on the Talkomi app all over the UK. And I order what us Yankees call a Suzy Q back in the states and a latte. It was so good. A long wait but it was worth every minute.

Café-Konditorei NASCHwerk

I've came twice in the last 72 hours and it's already become my obsession. Amazing food and amazing cakes. The sponge is always so tasty and bloody soft my mind melt when I try them. Love how it looks like home-style ish~ ♡ I'm sorry but I'm gonna be a regular from now on~

One email, three phone calls and a visit to try and make a booking! Cakes might be nice but customer service is awful!

Just off the phone with my partner who spent £10 on a small quiche (with a salad leaf on top) and was reduced to tears by the aggressive hectoring of the woman behind the counter. Would recommend you avoid this unless you like staff who are ready to pick a fight with you over where you stand in the shop, how long it takes to prepare a fresh salad (or: put a leaf on a quiche) or anything else that has them aggrieved that day. Yesterday she bought a granola and hot chocolate, which set her back £9.50 - but at least she wasn't given an earful. I suspect she won't be going back again and I know I won't.
