McDonalds are swapping plastic straws for paper ones and there is a paper straw company opening in the UK.
What are your views on this?
A: it’s a good thing to reduce plastic consumption... B: we need to reduce all unnecessary consumption - let’s ditch straws altogether C: you only need straws in special circumstances eg to help with some disabilities D: really not bothered
As you may already know, we have gone to great lengths to use compostable packaging that can be composted at home (some can only be industrially composted) and is GMO-free. The ideal solution is to go package free, and there is a growing movement for that. In the mean time we have to use an alternative, more eco friendly form of packaging. However my feeling is that we don’t need to use straws as freely as we do. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the matter.

Really quick post on how to eat virtueliciously when you want coco pops for breakfast!
I used bran instead of rice cereal, added banana for sweetness and cocoa powder dissolved in hot water for a chocolately hit 🍌 🍫
What hacks do you use to eat virtueliciously?

We’ve got rid off our toaster!!
It’s funny how we go in cycles isn’t it? My quest for gadgets has turned into a yearning for simplicity and clear surfaces after accumulating umpteen unnecessary gizmos. The grill is just fine after all.
What do you think?
... A: I love my toaster B: I’m back to basics C: something else
Do let me know which camp you’re in 🙂
p.s. this one minute read talks about the impact gadgets have had on food waste: https://virtuelicious.co.uk/why-we-waste- more-food-now/

Calling all creatives!!
As you know we’ve rebranded from A Very Nice Idea to Virtuelicious and we’d like to come up with fancy pants names for our products.
So far we’ve got currylicious for the curry kit and falafel in a flash for our falafel kit. But what should we call our tagine kit?
... Ideally it will begin with tagine so that it’s easier to find when listed on the website.
Please help with your ideas...and if we choose your idea we’ll definitely treat you 😊

Who has inspired you? Tag them in your answer and if you have time let us know how they inspired you.
Our work gives us the chance to meet some amazing people: artisan producers, zero wasters and most recently sponsoring The Quarter Club's latest event on #Noise where each attendee got one of our tagine kits in their goody bag. I have been inspired by strong women making noise to make a difference.
These are the women that inspired me: Hannah Witton the award winning Youtub...e blogger, Sophia Thakur the amazing poet, Seyi Akiwowo the East London MP, @GayleneGould of the BFI, and Coco Khan a journalist at the Guardian
In this blog I share what I learnt from these inspiring women: http://virtuelicious.co.uk/noise/

It’s BBQ time! But what’s your bbq style?
If you’re short of time just put A, B, C or Din the comments below.
A: just throw some sausages and burgers on the BBQ... B: I buy marinated meat and prepared kebabs and salads C: I take time to marinate my meat/veg and make everything from scratch D: something else
ps our curry, peri peri and tagine kits make excellent marinades. Our falafel kits would make great veggie burgers.

Remember the courgette crisis? My fridge was broken and three courgettes were half frozen. Thankfully the fridge is now fixed 😀
I’ve shared what I did with the first two...now here’s what I did with the third one. It was very quick and simple. I was craving veg...and this delivered: fried onions, chorizo, garlic and green chillies with butternut squash, peppers, courgette and tofu then seasoned and added a squeeze of lemon juice.
What was the last thing you rescued from the bin and what did you make with it?

Are you busy clicking through umpteen emails on GDPR? Well, take a break and answer these questions (if you’re short of time skip the first two and answer Q3 with one or two words in the comments below):
1. We’re about to rebrand and we’ve been dropping clues about the new name. Have you guessed it? 2. Can you guess the main brand colours? (this is an easy one) 3. What do you think of when you think of A Very Nice Idea? (i.e. what does our current brand mean to you?)

A: follow a diet plan - do tell us which one... B: exercise 🏃🏽‍♀️- what do you do? C: A and B D: I don’t watch my diet or exercise E: something else
Would love to know what you do!
