About Vision Gallery

Vision Gallery is an online gallery for the paintings of Liz Hankins and a selection of work by other guest makers. The gallery in Blackboys is open by arrangement only in between exhibitions

Vision Gallery Description

I am artist and illustrator Liz Hankins and Vision Gallery is a virtual gallery that grew from a series of successful exhibitions and became a full time gallery for 5 or 6 years. I am now doing more of my own work and also managing the works of textile and print artist Tadek Beutlich (1922-2011) so for the moment the physical gallery has reverted to being my working studio. For any purchases and browsing look online at www. vision-gallery. co. uk. Visitors to my studio at Sharlands Farm are welcome by arrangement-please phone 07970 772063 or email liz@vision-gallery. co. uk. Currently available are Liz Hankins paintings and limited edition prints, one large triptych wallhanging /screen handwoven by Tadek's former assistant Fay Hankins, silver jewellery inset with gems stones and crystals and a selection of hand made cards. There are no Tadek Beutlich works at Blackboys but you can request to see selected pieces by arrangement.
Tadek Beutlich prints are available at Emma Mason Gallery in Eastbourne. (www. emmamason. co. uk).
I hope to see you soon! Liz

The Makery is a lovely artists co-op in Eastbourne’s Enterprise Centre open every day and with free parking on Sundays. Don’t forget to look up if you visit- Winged Insect by Tadek Beutlich is hovering over it all up in the roof!

Tapestry, watercolours and creative writing are all merged into some fabulous creations here on his new website launched this week by Michael Crompton http://michael-crompton.co.uk/2010-2020/< br>

You can now see Winged Insect - one of the larger sisal textiles made by Tadek Beutlich while he was living at Gospels, the former home of Ethel Mairet in Ditchling. It is impressive with its 3.5m wing span- on display at the Enterprise Centre next to Eastbourne Mainline Railway Station. Please enquire directly to Liz Hankins via vision-gallery.co.uk if you are interested in owning this piece.

I am delighted to tell you that you will be able to see a selection of Tadek Beutlich textiles large and small in this exhibition of works by the British Tapestry Group at the Hepsibah Gallery in London from 21st to 27 June. Expect to see five impressive Freewarp Tapestry pieces by Tadek Beutlich and some small teaching samples and textiles will also be available. All are for sale. As well as the considerable talent that BTG will be sharing with you, you will also see tapestry works by the internationally renowned artist William Jefferies. If you would like to come to the private view please message me- Liz

Last chance to see the smaller Tadek Beutlich textiles at Fibre Fest 2018 in Eastbourne today and the not so small Winged Insect. Open 10-4pm. Eastbourne is at its best in this beautiful sunshine

Lovely hand machine embroidered blanket at Fibre Fest by Claire Buckley incorporating upcycled jewellery, mirrors, keys, washers.. to magical effect!

A slight lunchtime lull after a frantically busy morning is very welcome! Lots of visitors at Fibre Fest today and still another day to go. It’s wonderful to meet so many who have travelled here specially to see Tadek’s textiles. Two elderly ladies who had not heard of Tadek were pondering whether a small demo piece of twined grass wrapped with wool (for sale at £90) would be just what she needs to mend her broken bag handle .. I said there might be more economic ways to fix it but I think Tadek would have loved the idea! His ethos was to use what’s readily available, such as the esparto grass outside his door in Spain

User

A couple tips for any one travelling to Fibre Fest this weekend at the Enterprise Centre: it is right next to the main line station in Eastbourne and there is free parking all day Sunday in the Enterprise Centre car park. See you there!

Winged Insect by Tadek Beutlich (woven in his Gospels studio, Ditchling 1970-74) is now airborne and will be hovering over Fibre Fest at the Enterprise Centre in Eastbourne all this weekend
