Many years ago (before kids came along) my wife and I use to go abroad for our holidays, but once the kids came we started to have our family holidays in the UK. Mainly because it started to become expensive and I could afford to go away many times here where I could only afford to go abroad once.

We started at Filey then visited Scarborough, Whitby and everywhere in between. We also went to Great Yarmouth and visited all around that area, then went to Wales and explored there.

Over the past few years we have visited Cornwall and are exploring the whole of Cornwall but once we have been everywhere we will then visit a new part of England to explore.

Everywhere we have been to we have seen some beautiful and quint places and most of our holidays we have had some stunning weather.

Having kids you get to visit and explore a lot more as you cram in theme parks and countless places to visit or spend a day.

Britain has so many beautiful places and whether it's England, Scotland or Wales you can find something to do no matter what you may be into. Whether it's bodyboarding or surfing in Cornwall, walking or cycling in the Yorkshire Dale's or visiting a museum in Scotland.

We have a country that is steeped in history and a wide range of different castles, stately homes and gardens and not to mention the wildlife, plants and trees that you see no matter where you go. We have a wide range of film sets or places where programmes are filmed to visit so no matter what you or your family may be into you will find something to do or place to visit and the best bit is you can get to anywhere by car, bus, train or plane.

So if you want a holiday where you can explore or just visit a breathtaking beach then visit Britain.

It is my birthplace and though I live in America, my heart is divided and I miss Europe and Britain very much. Was born in Farnham and lived in Reading, Oxford, Brighton, Woodley, Surrey, Henley, Barnsley, Wales. Visited Leeds, Newcastle, Southampton, Sheffield, Wakefield, Bradford, Keighly, York, Harrogate, Yorkshire, Manchester and probably a few more I can't recall at the moment. Really miss the English summers, friends, family and too many other things to mention. : )

User

I use it a lot to find places to visit, they always keep me up to date with places to visit and events going on that i would miss if not for Visit England

Hi guys, If like me, you love England & great comedy? Then you'll love ‘Not Just Rob Gotobed But Also Tony Knight’ at The Leicester Square Theatre on May 23rd 2015.

“From the moment you enter the theatre you are taken on a comedic journey of absurdity. So sit back, relax and I will guarantee that not only will you laugh out loud, you will fall off your chair laughing out loud … Yes, the humor of Dudley Moore & Peter Cook is alive and well in the form of Rob Gotobed & Tony Knight” F. Visit England have conned us out of hundreds of pounds!! They have been charging our bank account for the last 3 years for a bed and breakfast called the Dyke Neuk near Meldon which has nothing to do with us! I urge all holiday cottage owners to check their bank accounts as I would hate for anyone else to be caught out the way we unfortunately have with our little holiday cottage. After paying fees to visit England for the past 3 years to have our cottage tourist board rated we decided that fees were far too high and decided to cancel our renewal. That is when through a series of emails we discovered they have been taking payment from our bank account not only for us but also for someone else's business!! We thought it would be a simple case of informing that they had made a gross error and they would refund the money but NO. They informed us that as there was a change in admin from QIT to the AA earlier this year they could not and would not refund the payments. We cannot believe what has happened we are hundreds of pounds out of pocket and through further investigation it seems they charged us twice for 2016 too!! This is not a spam post this has really happened to us - Please check your bank accounts and make sure it hasn't happened to you too. Unfortunately the Dyke Neuk have declined to acknowledge our emails to urge them to contact the tourist board and help us sort out this problem. It does not seem to bother them that we have been paying for them to be tourist board rated for the past 3 years!
