Throwback to a couple of weeks ago when our Paper Peace producers took part in a 2 day symposium in Bradford with producers from B-Arts CreativeScene and Ideas Test.
Thinking about peace building over the last 100 years the participants will create a public interactive artwork promoting social action and positive change.
Age 18 - 25 and want to find out how to take part, visit vivacity.org/paperpeace or email arts@vivacity.org

Join Metal Peterborough on 4th April 6pm for a pub style ‘art quiz’, where guest artists put their spin on the night, deciding the rounds and themes of the evening; it’s a quiz that offers some light hearted fun, still with a chance to meet other creatives and hear about up coming opportunities.
Each evening will include an invited guest host, for this Future Network our guest host will be the brilliant, shaker and movement maker, performance artist, Sarah Blanc.

With The Arts Council postponing their attendance at April’s meet we are proposing a a different style of event, one, which if it works could happen regularly within the What Next? programme:
PETERBOROUGH DEVOTED & DISGRUNTLED OPEN SPACE APRIL 2019
Open Space is a free flow / speed-dating style event where artists pose big questions or provocations. Find out more about Open Space here: https://transitionnetwork.org/…/How-to- run-an-Open-Space-ev…
... Participants can move between the groups, contributing ideas and questions (The Law Of Two Feet).
Proposed themes to get us going are:
PETERBOROUGH, NO 1 WORSE PLACE TO LIVE? How can artists change Peterborough’s perception of Peterborough? (Sheena Carman to facilitate)
MATCHMAKING SERVICE: Venues, projects & community groups (Kate Hall to facilitate)
EXPOSURE & OPPORTUNITIES How much should be charge for our stuff? How much will people pay? When not to charge? (Amber Lawrence to facilitate)
Please email if you have a burning questions which you are willing to facilitate to add to the mix (as we only have an hour 5 questions in total would be the most to accommodate, probably.)
Please confirm attendance by clicking attending on this event.
What is What Next?
What Next? is a national movement bringing together arts and cultural organisations from across the UK to articulate and strengthen the role of culture in our society, through informed conversations with each other, audiences, policy makers, community leaders, politicians, funders, academics, business people and the public. It is an organically growing network, not ‘owned’ by anyone.
About the Chapter
This is a new chapter set up to provide a great opportunity for the arts and cultural sector in the city to come together, make connections, discuss issues and look at ways we can work together.
Everyone is welcome, whether from an organisation or individuals and from all art forms.

Preview Event: 28 March 2019, 6pm - 8pm
Vivacity's Open Exhibition is a visual arts competition, open to all artists who have made work in the last 2 years. Entered works are judged by esteemed panel of arts representatives, and the selected works are professionally curated into a show at Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery.
An exciting platform for creatives which celebrates the best in visual arts, this year’s Open Exhibition marks the 4th edition of its kind. This year Viv...acity have welcomed 600 entries from over 240 artists across the UK as well as and a handful from outside the UK. We have recognised works from artists who have entered in previous years, yet have also seen a large proportion of new entrants and emerging artists who are in the early stages of their career.
As a competition that offers a wide scope for those who enter, it is only appropriate that the panel of judges reflected the breadth of possibilities available in the arts. As a freelance curator and consultant, Katherine Wood works on a range of projects with artists, venues and local authorities across the UK, specialising in visual arts services building connections between artists and audiences. Director of the Royal Society of Sculptors, Caroline Worthington brought a wealth of knowledge gained while leading two independent non-profit cultural organisations, having worked with artists such as Gavin Turk, Laura Ford, and Joana Vasconcelos. Highlanes Municipal Art Gallery Director and Chairperson of Drogheda Arts Festival, Aoife Ruane is an experienced curator of modern and contemporary art, working with Highlanes permanent collection and dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions.
