The VRA is a membership organisation that represents all those involved in delivering vocational rehabilitation services in the UK.

Vocational Rehabilitation Association Description

The VRA represents all those involved in delivering vocational rehabilitation services. A number of professional groups are involved from both health (NHS and private) and other government agencies e. g. the Department for Work and Pensions.
The Association exists to:
- help people working in the field of disability and employment
- promote and develop their personal, professional and practical skills
- maintain their awareness of a broad range of rehabilitation issues.
The Association is committed to:
- fulfilling aims that will ensure the recognition of the skills and knowledge of practitioners
- setting and furthering standards for future practitioners
- providing a competence framework for users of vocational rehabilitation services.

The Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) has called for a new multi-disciplinary national “Centre for Work and Health” to be established to act as a focal point and catalyst for occupational health-based research. The call is one of 11 recommendations made in a new report The Value of Occupational Health Research launched in June.

A new clinical trial in the North East is testing whether virtual reality (VR) based psychological therapy could help people with severe mental health difficulties. The "gameChange" study is the largest ever clinical trial of virtual reality for a mental health disorder, with over 400 patients, including 87 from the North East, and others from Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham and Oxford taking part.
