Vodka Revolution York

Loved it here.. went for lunch and cocktails, food beautiful and staff lovely, returned for the evening for more cocktails and the atmosphere was lovely, really busy and good music, finished the evening sat outside with a drink under a patio heater.. perfect! We will be back next time we are in York 😘

Fab time at our cocktail making class with kye who was brilliant, we were there to celebrate a friends 50th birthday and it certainly did that, great afternoon and great class taken by kye 👍

Fab place cocktails were scrummy and the bar tender did a non alcoholic version of one for my son . Although we didn't eat had a look at the menu and some great choices especially like the chicken burger with no bun doing a low carbs diet so that would be perfect . Lovely atmosphere also

Did a cocktail making class with nibbles for my hen do here and it was amazing I couldn't rate it anymore the food the staff and the amount of cocktails you get was over and above what we expected! And a special thank you to Connor and guy

Decided to call in for tea during our visit to York. Our waitress Hannah was superb, she was efficient, helpful and very friendly!! Food was great and cocktails great value as 2 4 1! Really nice venue overlooking the river although sadly too cold to sit outside!!

I was at Vodka Revolution last night, enjoying myself, the music etc when group of young guys mid 20s approached and danced with us, a few girls had started dancing with me. In a nutshell, about 4 of the lads started making disgusting gestures at me suggestive of oral sex. I am 54 and was out alone. I became angry at their fowl gestures and pushed a few of them shouting 'you don't f***ING make those gestures at me!' making the offensive gesture at them to show what I meant.

A scuffle broke out as 1 or 2 of their friends tried to placate me and a crowd started to form so for fear of being seen as the perpetrator and physically removed from the club, because I had become physical, I walked away and left the club.

These 'men' were vile and disrespectful, clearly cowards picking on an older woman on her own and in their warped minds obviously fair game, easy.

Whilst I had had a great night to that point, the events left me aghast at the sheer direspect and fowl behaviour I was subjected to.

I wonder whether had I reported their disgusting behaviour - which was without provocation - to one of the staff at VR, any action might have been taken?

When you order a gin cocktail and then told you need to order from the gin bar in garden that is closed but they still make it for you from the main bar, then to be told you can't have it, very poor service.

Went with a friend have a revs card so showed it when I went for the bill it was £41 I knew it would be £20 something so went back he redid to 2xdinner time specials at £6.25 and buy one cocktail with the revs sign on get another free I was so rapped up in thinking about the meals been wrong and not the first time this has happened that when we went to another bar I realised he charged me for 2 cocktails instead of 1 so it should have £20.75 instead I paid £29 I’m so annoyed I’ve been overcharged yet again but silly me for not double checking don’t think I will be back twice it’s happened not again it won’t

I am being generous with this rating food was terrible and took ages to arrive and the lager was flat in dirty glasses the 2 stars are for the music and atmosphere

Got a pitcher of Strawberry Woo Woo cocktail. Think mocktail more like it. Certainly no alcohol in there not impressed. Got a sharing platter too. Luckily it was half price. I would not have been happy to pay full price for it. Overall not impressed.

SPOILT OUR MOTHERS DAY MEAL OUT! Would rate 0 if was an option! To say the restaurant wasn't full we were very disappointed to wait 40mins just for our drinks. After an hour wait since ordering our starter finally arrived after having asked numerous times to be told 'it'll be 2 minutes'. After nearly an hour and a half kids meals arrived (children aged 1, 2, 4 & 7 bored and past it by this time) cold beans, hard chips that were all stuck together. No sight of the adults meals arriving and again told '2 minutes'. Staff and service was a joke, manager not very apologetic and had the cheek to chase after us on the way out with the bill for the kids 'horrendous' meals in which we refused and walked out. Will not be returning nor recommending to others.

Not good. Certainly as well organised as the V.R in Leeds. Ordered a drink from the bar just selling draught lager and cider; didn't accept card. No sign age and member of staff was rude and ignorant. Then service at the main bar was poor and slow. The staff were struggling with cocktail orders, slowing down the service. Generally bad after taste, very poor service.

My friend and I called in on a Thursday night whilst we were visiting York for a couple of days. There were around 20 other people inside at the time. Had to wait ages for a drink,only 1 member of staff behind the bar, most people drinking cocktails which take a long time to make! (Apparently!) We ordered a pitcher, found and table and sat down to enjoy our drink. The whole time we sat there people were coming from upstairs and passing our table so there had obviously been some sort of function on up there. At around 11.30 we ordered another pitcher which again took a while to come then at around 12pm we were told we'd have to finish our drinks as they were closing NOW! There hadn't been no mention of this when we ordered the 2nd pitcher (priced at £18!) there was so much ice in it it was impossible to drink quickly so we had to leave half of it there! So having spent around £40 with them we were basically kicked out! I should also mention on their website it said they were open until 1am,my friend asked the barman about this when we were told to leave and he just walked away!! Needless to say we will not be visiting Revolution the next time we are in York, I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere.

My Wife and I thought we would pop in yesterday for some food by the River. We had the Steak Sandwiches with fries and to be honest though the waiter was great was pretty poor. My Wife complained about the bread so they brought out a similar bun which was as bad. Needless to say the only revolution about the establishment's food is that it s revolting. Again the lad who served us was great though very apologetic and we got a 25% refund. Avoid the food at all costs!!!

Diabolical to be honest. We were booked in for my daughters hen party at the weekend and nothing was ready for our arrival, the food was inedible and just a total disgrace, I will certainly not be entering this establishment again. It is an appalling place and the management were no better. I am not even giving it one star they should put a minus on here.

Busy Friday night and only one bar open downstairs so it was packed and took 15 to 20 mins to get served. Gave up in the end and went to Harkers Bar got served straight away and same drinks 50 pence cheaper. My first and last time in Vodka Revolution.

After having enjoyed other parts of the chain I was left very disappointed. Whilst Revs York tries to be a jack of all trades, it’s a master of none. The food tasted, and looked. like it had been reheated to order, whilst the drinks with the meal were sparse due to the unnattentive service.



It might be good for a stag due, but don’t let Revs York fool you into a family meal or anything else more civilised.
