Just a quick reminder that next Wednesday 26th February is our February Volunteer Managers’ Cafe. Pop in between 10am and 12pm to get free, tailored support with managing local volunteers from our very own Best Practice Manager, Shafia.
The cafes travel around the borough and this time we will be at Mei Leaf Tea House, 99-105 Camden High Street, NW1 7JN.
Good to know: You can pop in any time. There’s no need to book. Keep an eye out for Shafia who will be armed with a laptop ...and will have a few of our postcards on display.

We are an ten-minute walk from Kentish Town tube and rail station. We are on the Northern Line (High Barnet Branch). Some Thameslink services also stop at this station.
We are a 15-minute walk from Kentish Town West Overground Station and a 14-minute walk from Camden Road Overground Station. From Camden Road station, you can hop on the 29 or 253 towards Hackney Central or Wood Green. Get out at Torriano Avenue (Stop F) which is one stop past Sandall Road.
The closest buses are 393 and 390 which stop at Torriano Primary School (Stop U). Buses 253 and 29 stop on Camden Road (Torriano Avenue), which is a 4-minute walk away. The 46, 88, 134 and 214 stop in Kentish Town. And the 274 stops in York Way. So many options!
Your best bet is to use Transport For London’s website to plan your journey and / or Google Maps on your phone.

Abbey Community Centre is looking for a part time volunteer coordinator to ensure the efficient and effective co-ordination and development of the centre’s volunteer recruitment, recognition, and impact reporting.
Part time 38 hours per month (typically 8 hours weekly). Actual salary £6,156 (£24,570 F.T.E.). Pro-rata 30 days leave annually plus bank holidays. Annually renewable contract.
... The successful candidate will have at least one full year’s experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate that they’re appropriately skilled, motivated, and definitely a people-person.
This interesting and rewarding role is ideally suited to a well organised diligent professional with a desire to work in a small but ambitious community-focussed organisation.
You need to be flexible, able to work some hours on one or occasionally two Saturdays a month. The ability to take forward ideas and put them into action with minimal supervision is a must. Excellent administrative, communication, and strong computer skills are also essential.
You’ll work as part of friendly team taking on a key role in a vibrant and growing organisation, supporting our growth and development and ultimately helping improve our local residents’ lives.
