We just rehearsed the presentation, went really positively! Can't wait to meet the judges in the actual thing.
Judging started. Stands are looking great!
Thursday's Chef's Tip: Refresh and crisp sliced vegetables and fresh herbs by putting them in ice water for an hour. Alternatively, pick your herbs fresh at the very last minute before using them. Keep those greens tasting great!
Wednesday's Chef's Tip: Cooking fish? Lay them on a bed of lemon slices in the oven, stopping them from sticking to the grill as well as adding a zesty lemon flavour. Yum!
Tuesday's Chef's Tip: Afraid the water will boil over? Rest a wooden spoon across the top of the pan of boiling water. Magic!
Monday's Chef's Tip: Cooking up some pancakes? Store the batter in an empty ketchup bottle for less mess and precisely squeezed portions.
No-one is born a great cook, one learns by doing. - Julia Child
Sunday's Chef's Tip: Not sure if the oil is hot enough to deep-fry in? Use a popcorn kernel. Place it in the oil as it heats up - when it pops, the oil is ready for ANYTHING!
We'd like some quotes from people who've used our book - we'd love to know what you think! If you've tried some of our recipes or have an opinion on what we're doing, drop us a message or comment here. Thanks!
Saturday's Chef's Tip: Put a lid on the pot to make your water boil faster.
Friday's Chef's Tip: When chopping herbs, sprinkle a bit of salt onto the chopping board. This stops the herbs from flying around!
Thursday's Chef's Tip: Taking strawberries to Wimbledon? If they're under ripe slice them in half and toss them with a little sugar.
Hi everyone!! Hope everything's going well. Have a look at our website at http://www.hungryallthetime.co.uk/. There you'll find out more about our company, be able to contact us, buy the book, and even view recipes! Don't miss out!
Wednesday's Chef's Tip: Read the recipe thoroughly, and then wing it! You will then not only learn it more easily, but be more confident in adding your own *extra* special touches.
