Went here today for Dinner with my son and a mate. The food was excellent and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. They have a good choice of non alcoholic beers too. Will definitely come again

User

We went for dinner on Sunday and had one of the best roast dinners I've had in a pub for a long time.

Generous portions (make sure you are hungry!)

I had the pork and my hubby had the beef. They were both fabulous.

Music was great.... as with true north pubs. Staff great and attentive. Kids food was nice enough (pizza / ham egg & chips)

It's not as cosy as the broadfield - and lacks the atmosphere... granted. But... ideal with kids and within walking distance.

User

We visited today with our dog & we were very impressed. Friendly attentive staff, nice decor & relaxing music.

Dogs are allowed in part of the pub & staff were more than happy to get her a water bowl.

We had a lovely pint of true north pilsner with our lunch. The menu was varied & prices to suit all.

We look forward to trying the evening menu.

We visited for my son's 15th birthday, I apologised as we were 15 minutes late, the staff couldn't have been nicer.

The atmosphere was brilliant, service even better, little things like the waitress recognising my partner didn't have a steak knife (my son had pinched it) and bringing another over AND taking the one she had been using away instead of leaving it cluttering the table, the food was amazing, from my chowder to the steaks and even the birthday boy's pizza!

Well done guys, food and service like this costs a lot more than my bill elsewhere, keep it up please, we'll be back!

User

There for dinner last night and an absolute WINNER!! Again

Every time I come it’s amazing. I was there with a friend and your extremely brilliant waitress recommended the scallops for starter off the specials board and they were incredible! It just got better on from there, lots of fine gin, outstanding food and such lovely friendly service x

User

Thank you for great service today on my 1st visit felt like the queen! .. cakes went down a treat! Thank you so much!!! Will definitely be coming down again (hopefully child free next time lol)

User

Just been in for drinks

Only this time, decor nicely done, subtle changes from before better seating but something needs to be done with the lighting in the first part of lower bar way too dark and the tables are too big for couples ! Something also needs doing with the yapping dogs it might be ok in the day but not at night especially when eating.

User

Had a lovely meal...I'm gluten free and trying to be vegan, so I can be a pain to feed, but it was no problem at all, good choices, tasty, clearly marked options on the menu...the rest of the menu is great too for non Veggies...we will be coming back! #veganuary #sheffieldvegansandvegetarians

Came with my wife and 7 week old child, the food came quickly and the service was really good. Very reasonably priced.

We will be coming back again soon.A*

User

Called in today for a bite to eat and a drink after spending the day in the park. Food and drink were lovely, reasonably priced. Considering how busy it was we got our food very quickly. The staff were lovely as well and doing a great job! Thank you very much, will definitely be back!

User

As i watched the England game my partner and friends had some food and they told me it was amazing. Topped off by the staff singing happy bday to my partner. cheers guys

User

Great value Sunday roast - nicely cooked and very tender beef, great Yorkshire pud with rich gravy. We had a huge party and were catered for well with no fuss. Small plates starters were great, particularly the crackling. Would recommend giving it a whirl

User

We had a very nice Sunday lunch but the place is badly organised. Afterwards when we were finishing our drinks a waiter came up to us and firstly asked if he could get us any food? When we said no thank you thinking he meant desert he said we would have to move to the bar area because our table was needed for diners. We were surrounded by empty tables and were diners and had been told the table was ours until 5.00 p.m! No apology when the same waiter brought our bill .

User

Me and the other half had cheese burgers on Sunday which was really and our 2 boys had a pizza (which was pretty big) off the kids menu with a portion of chips and they loved it. Our only problem was with ants in the high chair! Which the staff did change for us. The staff was nice and the food was nice, would consider going again!

User

Food was ok. Puddings were disappointing. Kids menu is limited. We were told before we even ordered that we had 1.5 hours to eat and leave as other diners will need the table, though there were plenty of other tables. This made me feel rushed and i couldn't relax. We pay for our custom please do not rush us. I feel for a pub near a busy family park the atmosphere just isn't right. I used to be a regular before it changed hands too :(

User

Bit disappointed in the bacon and avocado salad today... have never seen such a poor attempt! Less than a quarter of an avocado (if that even) and a tiny amount of crispy bacon. Couldn’t really call it an avocado and bacon salad. The waiter kindly brought us some more avocado on request but think you need to address this in general!

User

Today was our second visit. The first time was amazing, visiting with our pooch. It was that good my hubby ordered 2 breakfasts (for himself). Today it was like we were an inconvenience and could only order bar food with a dog, instead off of the full menu. We left without ordering and went somewhere we were welcomed.

User

Been in here a lot recently and enjoyed it , on Sunday I walked 2miles to the wagon for tea, had a drink while we decided what to have , only to be told the kitchen was not taking orders due to how busy they were.

Fair enough, businesses get busy , but it was no where near as busy as bank holiday weekend and to refuse an order I think was bad, manage expectation , take an order but say there's a 45min wait ( not a problem) then it's my choice whether I order or not.

I left and went to the robin hood , they were busy and were still taking orders

I was in favour of the extra tables in the park , but if they can't service the tables they have now what's the point ?

User

I have just arrived only to be seated and leave within 5 minutes. I have coeliac disease and there was a total of two available items - granola or a salad. As it was lunch time granola didn't seem ideal, and salad was not what I fancied.

I am so disappointed.

The place looked nice and for a drink it would be OK but I won't be returning for food.
