War of the cafes iydea and Dexter’s put up a good snowball fight but I think we can agree that wai kika was triumphant. 😝

Three chaps having brunch at the Kau

User

Wonderful service, lovely guy who put up with me breaking the sugar bowl! Lovely food

User

Went with my daughter for her birthday lunch. Enjoyed the meze platter, nachos and vegan burger. Beautiful salad, dips and choices for veg/vegan. Pity you don’t have a cafe in Southampton but we’ll be back thank you x

User

We were roaming around Brighton with a hope to find some vegetarian eatery and found Wai Kika. It’s not only vegetarian but it’s deliciously vegan.

Highly recommend the lovely dishes and drinks! Also such a friendly service and good coffee. We’re in Heaven and we will defo be back... see you next time xxx

User

We had a really lovely breakfast and shake today, and were welcomed in out of the rain by the staff. Thank you

User

Visited for brunch yesterday on a wet, windy Sunday bank holiday! Good number of choices I had the halloumi open wholemeal bagel with rocket, cooked tomato (in balsamic) and a rocket and cashew pesto. Banana and peanut butter milkshake to accompany the meal. Absolutely delicious. Strongly recommend this place to visit - very friendly staff as well.

User

Lovely food and good, friendly service. Shared vegan platter for two with my daughter, which was delicious and great value for money. Hubby had a burger, which he enjoyed, and once finished then shared our platter as there was plenty. Will definitely be returning to try more dishes :)

I'm not veggy but have a son who had a dairy allergy, so going somewhere with all vegan cakes, which were served with vegan ice cream was great. Given that I'd been looking forward to steak (!) In another restaurant which was closed, the lentil, spinach and coconut milk soup and halloumi pitta pocket were really tasty. The staff were accommodating of our requests such as a plate of bread straight away as we were starving. Plus they serve chips for fussy toddlers! I'm sure we'll be back when in the area, thanks a lot.

User

Homely, clean setting with lovely friendly and attentive staff :) had their halloumi wholemeal bagel with cashew nut butter, rocket, grilled tomato and balsamic glaze and it was so tasty!! We would definitely come back here for lunch when we return to Brighton. Thanks guys!! :) :)

User

Had brunch here a few weeks ago and it was great. I’m not a vegetarian but the food is so delicious it doesn’t matter.

User

Gorgeous hearty vegan and vegetarian home made food in a very chilled and welcoming setting with lovely staff! Highly recommend for a relaxed brunch or lunch.

User

First time I went there place was packed so hot soup to go which was nice!

Today went for breakfast. The Vegan breakfast was top notch! And we went for small portions which weren't small at all! Definitely going back there!

User

Best breakfast ever I love staff here the food is delicious and before lunch time it’s lovely and quiet it’s by far my favourite cafe in Brighton

User

Amazing soup and a very nice cup of coffee, this place never fails to impress.

User

The service was a little slow, but the food was good, the portions were generous, and the cakes are incredible! Everything on the menu is vegetarian, and everything can be altered for a vegan option. I bought a slice of the vegan chocolate and raspberry cake to bring home with me and it's the most delicious cake I've had in ages.

User

My husband and i popped in for a quick lunch yesterday and it was lovely we are neither veggie nor vegan but still really enjoyed the food only reason I've not given it 5* is the decor and i felt a bit too crammed in !

User

Food was nice. Shame about the waiter who didnt come across very welcoming and didnt seem bothered at all when i hurt myself on one of their chairs and got light headed, it was a kind chef from the kitchen who helped me. No apology or discounted food from waiter. Took ages to get food once order was finally placed.

Wouldnt visit again.

Went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Sat down and then had to wait 15minutes for any kind of order to be taken. No biggie, you were busy. Placed our breakfast and drinks order. Another 15minutes go by and still no drinks or food in sight. Waitress comes over and says she hasn't put our order through. So that's half an hour gone with no food or drinks. Then proceeds to tell us that she won't be putting our order through and if we want food we have to order off the lunch menu. Awful awful service.

User

We went twice in one week last week ...first time waitress lost our order and realised after we waited 30 minutes ... no apology , no discount ...2nd time went for tea and cake urgh cake full of sugar awful my friend sick later ..we told the waitress who said all the cakes were like that ...i wanted to complain she went to tell the supervisor , no supervisor made the effort to talk to us about the awful cake , no refund offered ..no care or attention showed by this over hyped cafe..there are better cheaper vegan places to eat ..We won't be going again

User

I would have hoped that in restaurant that caters for vegetarians and vegans that staff would be more aware of the importance of ensuring that when someone asks for vegan food they are not served dairy. My partner and I visited with our son yesterday and ordered the vegan sharing platter. 45 minutes later (no exaggeration) it finally arrived but with cheese all over the top of it ruining the food for my vegan partner. We then had to make the decision as to whether we wanted to send it back and risk having to wait another massive amount of time for a replacement or just eat around the dairy. We were given the vegan option of tofu on a side plate that was plonked aggressively on the table with no apology 15 minutes later. The food was good but the wait, incompetence and rudeness of staff made it an uncomfortable experience that I am loathe to repeat.
