Friendly pub with a great beer selection. Food is great. There are plenty of tables so I think you stand a better chance of getting one here than other pubs in the area.

Tried Wainwright's for the first time after a terrible meal at the Sticklebarn further up the valley. Got our order in just before a coach load of Americans arrived. Service was quick despite the being a full house and the food was great. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

We absolutely love this pub. Really top notch food, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Really friendly, helpful staff, great ales, reasonably priced. We come back year after year and it's always fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

Once again our yearly visit was absolutely outstanding. Our 6 month old also highly recommends the Garlic Bread. She also enjoyed providing free entertainment to your coachload of American guests who happened to be in at the same time. Staff friendly and welcoming as always and our food was absolutely amazing x be back soon

I always want to really like this place but I'm just never sure. There's something missing that I can't put my finger on. Food is ok but not amazing, good pint but seems to take a while to get it even if there's not many people waiting to be served. It's always cold when I go even if it's a sunny day outside.

Good choice of ales and food. Walker friendly. Part of the main hotel complex nearby. Nice stop along a walk or just to relax for drinks in the evening

Great oldie pub, reasonably priced food and drink, stunning location within the langdales and great ride up.

Lovely country pub in the lakes. Had a meal here and the staff were nice and chatty. Make sure you tell the barman he looks like Ed Sheeran he really really likes it
