Waitrose

Called today to ask if they had a certain cake advertised on website in stock. I was first greeted by someone very professional. The female staff answer with a real professional greeting. I asked about the cake and was forwarded to another department. This time the member of staff answered with just a lazy hello. Not the sort of welcome I expect from such a prestigious and reputable company. I asked about the cake and the member of staff told me she couldn’t help as I had been directed to the patisserie section and that I should call back again on the main number, which I had already. Does anyone have access to a computer in front of them just to do a simple item check? Bad service.

We had raised some money for the local food bank and filled 3 trollies with food. The staff were very helpful in getting all of the trollies back to our office down the road and then insisted on letting them take all of them back for us. Top service!

So I've been working in Canary Wharf for nearly 4 years now and last year I stumbled across the Steak & Oyster bar within Waitrose. What I didn't know at that time that they provide breakfast from 8am til 11am. So ive been a regular now for the last year and the breakfast is amazing.. ive eaten all over the world in some fancy places but the chefs here Simon & Suffian get the breakfast just right. All fresh organic ingredients and free range eggs etc. If your are in Canary Wharf you have to give it a try. It's been a little secret and everyone I've brought here loves the place. I thought I'd share it with everyone else. Thanks.

Convenient large supermarket if you work in Canary Wharf. The self service system they run is super fast... Unusually, there is a small area that serves food and a fresh sushi counter too. There's also a John Lewis upstairs. However, try and avoid this place Monday to Friday during lunch break unless you really have to go... it will be jam packed with people who work in the area.

Excellent product selection and placement. Fresh fruits and vegetables are my favourites, but among all the quality of waitrose essential range of products is impeccable. Must try their Sushi Bar and Indian ready to eat section.

The Steak and Oyster bar here is very reliable. Some of the staff serving here have been doing so for over a decade (that's as long as I have been visiting) - it's great that they are able to have a job which brings them satisfaction to themselves (I assume it does, else why would they do it for so long) and satisfaction to customers. BUT I do wish they would serve some puddings!

Great quality products. Staff is uneven however: knowledgeable in the wine section, but not at all in the cheese counter. There used to be free coffees for members, but it is now mostly symbolic as you first need to check out and then go back in to get it (that it's no longer free is less of a concern than their view on customer's​ inability to see through useless offers).

Great location and great variety. I enjoy shopping here.

Brilliant supermarket! I've discovered lots of great food there just by wandering the aisles. Staff are very helpful, the steak and wine bars are good and good value. The upper floors have nice homewares etc.
