The Charity promotes the welfare of Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing People that live in the Wakefield and district

Wakefield & District Society For Deaf People Description

Wakefield Deaf Society is a specialised service concerned with the needs of deaf and hearing impaired people throughout the Wakefield Metropolitan District.

We provide support with mail translation, booking interpreters, making telephone calls and other low level issues you may need support with.

We provide equipment to enable independence, improve well-being and reduce risk.

Social & Sports Club
Opening Times: Monday and Saturday from 7: 00 pm
Bingo Nights (eyes down at 7: 45 pm. )
Monday – every fortnight and every second Saturday each month

Work Club
Meets Wednesday every two weeks 1: 30 - 3: 30
The sessions supports deaf people with everything concerned with looking for work, helps with application forms, phoning about job adverts, emailing employers through to interviews.

+ 50 Club
(Darby & Joan)
Every Thursday, enjoys fun and games and organised day trips throughout the year.

Youth club meets monthly Wednesday 6-8 pm please ring for more information
