We were a bit worried about our Swallows this season as it appeared that only one pair were back to breed. But what a good job they’ve done. I can count 6 fledglings and 2 proud parents 😊
Early this morning just coming in over the Deben bar after spending a weekend doing ‘sea trials’ in the Walton Backwaters in our new Shrimper.
Staycation just got even better!
Opted for a yard staycation, why not with weather like this and what about the view from my van door
Spring must have sprung, as it’s time to release in to the wild this winter's crop of dinghies created by Emma Barton's Deben Dinghy Co. Many thanks to John Archer for the beautiful woodwork. Fair winds and calm seas, my little beauties.
My morning commute was made a little more special this morning.
And we're off! First boat launch of the season and a few fully booked weeks ahead.
Boatyard Jenga. Getting ready to unstack these beauties ready for Easter. Anti fouling and polishing a plenty. Now where did that lovely sunshine go? Pic by Tom Barton.
Moorings being checked by Tam Grundy and his team, Sam Doman, Harry Simper and his shiny new mooring barge Patricia G, very efficient. Roll on the 2019 season.
Mark and Emma have been persuaded to model local artist Claudia Myatt's brand new buff design - what a pair of glamorous, trend-setting rufty tufty sailors they are! Where Waldringfield Boatyard leads, others follow (unless it's onto a mud bank).
As custodians of Joe Lubbock’s beautiful yacht Ondine we respectfully mark his passing on the occasion of his funeral.
Today we are at Excursions at Alexandra Palace promoting Deben Cruises. Mark is hard at work stopping every passerby and telling them all about the fabulous River Deben. Thanks Claudia Myatt for painting the wonderful image on our new banner.
Yesterday’s high tide. Tidal surge didn’t coincide with high water so mainly dry.
Christmas Day run down to the very welcoming Ramsholt Arms. Great pint and free hot nibbles. Simply beautiful on the river, the wild life was stunning today. Best wishes to all.
You don’t mind getting up early on a Sunday to lift out boats when the sun gets up with you. Makes me smile every time.
Beautiful day down here at the yard but it must be autumn as our lifting season has officially begun with the first of our large boats safely ashore. Lots of customers have already booked their slot. Email us to book yours.
