The Solstice Peace and Socialism evening, that was taking place at THE MEM on the 20th December, is STILL taking place at the Cluny 2. We deleted the event by mistake. We didn’t realise that it would cancel the whole event. Sincere apologies to everyone concerned and especially to Bethany Elen Coyle.

The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist, played out with a Victorian magic lantern show, and a one man show. Really good night.

We held a youth volunteering celebration event at the Mem last week. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great night. Friendly, professional and very helpful. Food was nice too. Already discussing another three bookings for the summer.

This has a beautiful hall and surroundings for dancing.

STEVEN FRY yoga 7pm Tuesday night. Excellent practice and very friendly grope and teacher relay put you at our ease. What is nice about yoga is that you only do what you can in the way you can i would advise everyone to have a go, If you have aches pains depression Anxiety it is great to do Thank you Steven Fry for your support and understanding. Also enjoying my Tuesday night classes. vOLENTEERS on the reception also very helpful and polite, cant WAIT FOR TUESDAY AGAIN. X thank YOU nICKI

One of the best venues around the North East, the dance floor is amazing, the seating is perfect , the Bar staff and door staff along with Gary Maden Bar manager are so friendly and always willing to help. I would recommend this venue for any occasion to anyone , beautiful place .

I've been to most, if not all, of the Rock at the Mem events. I found the venue to be truly impressive and the quality of service is excellent. Hope the events can continue but even if they can't I would heartily recommend the venue.

I have been promoting events at many venues for over 35 years and recently at Wallsend Memorial Hall , It has come to my attention that Gary Madden and his staff have been accused of being unprofessional for simply asking people to drink up at closing time , I would like to categorically state that you couldn't meet a more decent bar manager than Gary , and his staff are first class , professional and polite , After all drinking up at closing time is as it happens the law in all licensed premises , I for one shall certainly continue to use The Mem for my private functions and appreciate the courtesy shown at all times by the staff at this great venue.

I booked the memorial hall to hoat 1 of my events for my childrens entertainment company. What an amazing venue. It is stunning!!! The staff were fantastic and friendly. A huge thank you to gary for making us so welcome and he even had his photo taken with our princesses. We have now booked more events in this fantastic venue. Keep up the good work and see you soon when Hopscotch Entertainment returns.

Great space, great music, good range of booze and the warmest welcome possible (when's the last time you were pursued out of a club to thank you for coming along!). Massive dance floor, no-one chucking booze on it, and an excellent request response. Deserves to be much busier - get down to the next one!

A huge thank you to Gary and his team for helping to make yesterday's Tyne & Wear Heritage Conference such a success. Everything was set up perfectly for us, our delegates loved the building and everyone commented on the fantastic catering. We were told by a group of delegates that it was "the best conference buffet they'd ever had" - and these guys have been to a lot!

A fab building with lots of exciting events, "The people's centre" and it is definitely that, run by an amazing team of volunteers who will always greet you with a smile, the management team is very supportive of new events running in the hall, a real community feel. Lots of rooms available for rent for new and upcoming businesses.

A fantastic venue for weddings, parties, dance events and christenings. The grande hall is beautiful "a real hidden gem". The olive branch cafe is a lovely little chilled out spot, with great staff, homemade fresh hearty food- nowhere better for a catch up and cuppa with friends. Features Move it dance studio and Om Yoga Studio both permanent residence at The Memorial Hall. ����� 5 stars keep up the good work �

Great venue,Baldy Holly band filled it to capacity only let down was the staff that didn't turn in.Only two bar staff and one bar open haven to queue for over half an hour for a drink.

I attended my friends 40th birthday last weekend. I had a lovely night however this was ruined by the rude bar staff and manager at the end of the evening. They practically through people out onto the street after only 10/15 minutes of calling time at the bar.

Was at a friends 40th last weekend I travelled from South Wales 400 miles away .... This was a classy event black tie a lot of older people can't believe how we where treated . I'm still in shock at the venue staff very very rude and they are now telling lies ..... On there post ..... Sorry this is not true I was also at the event I was told at 11.15 out know by very rude staff and luckily I was driving so I took my car we went to Newcastle after the event sorry but you are a liar you so didn't play music till that time or the cake cut at that time ... It as ten mins past 11.10 that is and it was very rude staff saying see ya drinks off and out !!! Felt like we had zero respect from the staff the only nice person was the man on the front desk downstairs. I strongly feel like you have taken money and provided a terrible service I would never attend a event here again . Thank you Sarah
