Horsedrawn holidays in Cumbria: Trundle along quiet country lanes in a traditional horse drawn gypsy caravan, before camping up at one of our secluded camps where you can cook over an open fire paddle in the streams and immerse yourselves in the outdoors, before nestling up for the night in the cosy wagon. The next day we'll return to harness up the horse and trundle on to the next camp. 3 or 4 night breaks available from £200 per night for a family of four.

When inside a Gypsy caravan you will have everything you need to relax and for a gorgeous nights sleep.. you will be on natures’ doorstep with your feet up by the woodburner. But the experience of the Gypsy Caravan starts before the threshold – they, like no other built with beauty in mind as much from the outside as w...ithin.. the Gypsy caravans will carry off any photo just by being in the background! You will sleep in a double bed.. there is a bay window at the back giving both light and bringing the outside in.. there is a small woodburner that will take the chill off any evenings; in fact you will find yourself opening the doors to allow some air to flow as sometimes it is a little too toastyThe Caravans are fully insulated and there is plenty of storage. Each Wagon has its own BBQ/fire pit and rustic seating – making a lovely summer evening on holiday..
We appreciate that the Gypsy caravans are alone possibly a little small for doing everything in (albeit this is how a Romany family would have survived!) so with each Gypsy Caravan we are also providing a Cottage tent that will have a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable seating and a table and chairs..

This was such a magical trip. We bought things to 'entertain' us like books and cards, but we didn't get to any of them: the peace you feel just "being" and cooking on an open fire; frolicking in streams and cuddling the horses is just second to none. Barny and Katus are wonderful people and we're so grateful for the experience we had with them. VERY highly recommended. THANK YOU!!

Had the most wonderful holiday travelling around the South of France with Meg and Rhona (and of course Barney) this summer. Fabulous places to camp, excitement and adventure and even misplacing the horses at one point!!! Still rating as kids (and our) top holiday ever, even betting Florida Disney world. Thanks so much.
