The Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing Nijmegen team has just completed the 40th International Waendel Walk in Wellingborough, covering 84km (52 miles) over two days. The Waendel walk is a Nijmegen qualifier and the remaining 2 members of the team have now received their bronze road marching awards, which now fills all Nijmegen places on the team. The heat provided a new challenge but the team was determined and well disciplined, completing the walk despite more than a few sores, aches, pains and blisters. Thank you to 165 Squadron for the use of their trailer and 495 Squadron for the use of their 12x12 tent.

Many thanks to 29F - Rugby Squadron Air Cadets for the loan of their newly liveried Minibus and trailer! Both we and Royal Air Force Walking And Road Marching Association are indebted as it has transported a LOT of retirees over the weekend!

Leaving Rest Area 3

User

Very well done to the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Road Marching Team who have just arrived at rest area 3 roughly 3/4 of the way around day 1. Making good time and no injuries.

After an overnight sleep on a Gymnasium floor and an 0430 wake up call, the Warwickshire and Birmingham Road Marching Team is tucking in to their breakfast ahead of the first day of RAF WARMA!

Today was the last training session for the Wing combined WARMA and Nijmegen team before WARMA in two weeks time. A sunny but chilly day, perfect for marching along canals!
