Warwickshire College in Leamington Spa offers two courses in Video Games Art; one for school leavers aged 16 + and a Higher Education options up to full BA(Hons) Degree. Our most up to date info can be found via our Twitter stream @WCGamesArt

We have been offering Further Education courses in Games Development at Warwickshire College since 2005. Our BTEC course has an enviable success rate, has been profiled by national newspapers, and competition for places is intense.

We do not offer a generic media course with the word 'games' tacked on to make it sound more appealing. Instead we offer a specifically designed programme with a focus on traditional art & design training, so that when you progress on to the computer based disciplines you have a solid foundation of skill and ideas generation.

In 2012, to build on the success of our BTEC course, we launched a Foundation Degree in Games Art. This course has been purpose designed in close collaboration with market leading games development studios, in order to be as vocationally relevant as possible. Again, the focus is on traditional art and design with higher level training in software and theory. Our aim with the Foundation Degree is to run the course as a fully functioning game studio, producing game-ready assets for developers.

We are based in Leamington Spa, a. k. a. 'Silicon Spa' due to the high concentration of games studios within five minutes of our campus. We work closely with these companies and have a regular programme of industry speakers and 'masterclasses'. We're proud UKIE members and both key members of teaching staff are Videogame Ambassadors.
