Superb burger, good choice of ales, fair prices, friendly staff, dogs allowed. What else do you need?
Lovely remote location right next to the St Olafs church, the smallest church I know. Lovely setting and atmosphere and has some lovely views.
Great pub, campsite across the road. Great choice of beers. Food is great and a warm fire.
Great pub and big portions of food after a long hard walk. Very friendly and would highly recommend
Very happy with the stay here. Clean, hot water and good food. We climbed Scafell Pike in the morning and just made it back for breakfast at 9:30am. The staff and cook were nice enough to prepare a hot meal for us even though we told them we wouldn't be attending breakfast. Very happy and would stay here again!
Great hotel. Excellent young staff giving fab service. Bar food and drinks excellent. Fantastic location for walking
Excellent.. clean, friendly, helpful staff.. they do need to change the notices on the wall regarding wifi... or lack of as the notices are quite rude. Especially seeing as how there is no phone signal at all there but that's my only complaint. Will visit again. Lovely Inn in a beautiful remote corner of the lakes you won't get the chance to see too often.
Great staff, good food and amazing location! The room was beautiful and we will be going back 100 percent! Pints were gorgeous too btw! :-)
Great hiking pub hidden in the mountain skirts with hiking history and lovely people. There are outside sitting next to the river and old stone arch bridge. Seeing all the beautiful sheep around all day, we have ordered lamb shank and risotto with toffee sticky pudding and custard. Lamb shank was very fragrant, tender on the bone, done greatly. Risotto was moist and warming, pudding was the perfect hit after a long days hike. If you are doing the Scafell Pike, definitely visit this isolated gem.
