Wasdale National Trust Campsite

Loved it. Good facilities with great views and ideal for keen walkers. Surrounded by waterfalls and approx 9 peaks. Bring a good camera

Fantastic location for hiking, nice campsite with good washblock, quiet. 10 mins walk to Wasdale Head Inn if you want to eat and drink out rather than bring cooking stuff. Wooden pods make a great option in dodgy weather or if you prefer a lazier option than under canvas.

Very Expensive. £14 for a 1 man backpacking tent per night. Lots of noise at night past midnight and early in the morning. There was nobody from the site to have a polite word with the people concerned. Great location but much better value options are available for smaller tents. Left feeling slightly ripped off.

We parked here as a base for a walk around the mountains. The car park is quite spacious with good, big spaces for cars. There was some free portaloos which had a ripe stench that burned your nostrils for hours - in fact, if I close my eyes I am instantly transported back to that plastic hell. The member of staff at the National Trust booth was extremely friendly and had some good tips on walking!

Much quieter than the great langdale site. In the morning you can head off to the lakeside and watch sunrise and sunset. Great and engaging staff too

Top top campsite nestling between the mountains at the head of Wasdale. Amazing views. Great facilities: nice showers, shop etc. Nice feature is that the camping areas themselves are car free. Very peaceful and quiet. It's 20 mins walk to the Wasdale Head Inn for food.

only visited here when doing the 3 peak challenge but it seemed a very welcoming place. great veiws. didn't camp but it looked ok' flat and well drained. the mountain was wet and resembled a waterful but the rivers were coping. i would camp here.

Top location if you are walking Scafell Pike or Great Gable. I stayed for two nights. My tent leaked horribly on the first night so I upgraded to a pod, which was reasonably priced and well heated.
