Remember a few weeks ago when we said we had an exciting announcement regarding a fresher-focused project in Term 1 of 2018/19?
Watch This are over the moon to announce THE FIRST STAGE - an exciting evening of short plays created by freshers working alongside second and third years!
But we can't do it on our own, and we need your help to make it happen.
... THE FIRST STAGE is a brilliant opportunity to welcome fresh faces into the society, and we are looking for current members of the society to take part as Mini-Directors, responsible for directing the short plays.
Do you have experience in putting on shows at the Guild? Are you an actor, a stage manager or a designer? Are you a writer or producer or director? Do you want to have the chance to take someone under you wing and help them get involved in Guild Drama? Then we want to hear from you!
If you are interested in Mini-Directing there is more information and sign-up forms on this link: https://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSfV7C9 VB-GKtfGy9o…/viewform
If you have any questions or would just like to know more, please don't hesitate to ask: feel free to get in touch with either Marina Johnson or the Watch This Facebook account and we can help.
We can't wait to hear from you, and are looking forward to seeing the brilliant work at the start of the term!

Coming to see THE THINGS MEN DO at the MAC either tonight or tomorrow? Worried about getting there? Then fear no more because we are happy to announce...
THE THINGS MEN WALK TO!
Before each performance, we’ll be hosting walking buses to the venue, departing from Mermaid Square at the Guild at 6:30 and walking to the MAC. The route is below.
... Please note that the bus leaves at 6:30, if you’re late we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to wait. Much like the world of cutthroat British politics, the weak *will* be left behind.
For more info contact Jimmy Dougan, who will be leading the bus.

Writer's Forum is a place for all the wonderful writers of UoB to get together to chat about all things performance so please come and join us in Roomy McRoomface (it's a real room - we checked!) from 6 - 8.
If you have any extracts of plays, performance poetry or something completely new, please either bring it to along or send in to watchthis@guild.bham.ac.uk and we'll chat about it in the session. If you want to get feedback but prefer it to be anonymous, you're welcome to send it in anyway and we can discuss it or Henry (Writer's Liaison) can send you some privately. If you just want to come along for the ride without sending anything in, that's also perfectly fine.
See you on Thursday!
