We've opened bookings for our new term starting in September and have some fantastic classes available for babies from birth to age 12 months. We have spaces for older babies and children at later Chapters so don't worry if your little one is older than 12 months, give us a ring and we can find a suitable class for you. Our beginner classes teach you to teach your baby to swim and Water Babies in...structors really are the best in the world. We will soon be releasing our Chapter 1 classes so if you're thinking of booking onto our Autumn term starting in September, here are a few of our little swimmers on ITV 'Secret Life of Babies' showing some of the reflexes we work with to start teaching them to swim.
Babies have a complex set of reflexes which develop in the womb and we take advantage of a few of them. The involuntary response that gets the most attention is the laryngeal reflex (more commonly known as the g...ag reflex). When this reflex kicks in, a baby will instinctively hold its breath and avoid inhaling water in response to the sensation of feeling water on its face, nose & throat.
At Water Babies, we take it one step further though - whilst at first, we capitalise on babies’ ability to use their natural reflexes, through voice commands, gradual progression, and repetition we actually teach our Water Babies to control their breathing before they go underwater.

Water Babies lessons are a fabulous bonding experience for Daddies and their little ones too! Our weekend classes are often full of dads taking advantage of this special time together.
We will very soon be booking on our Chapter 1 class for our term starting in September for babies from newborn to 4 years across Bolton, Walkden, Whitefield and surrounding areas.
We have the highest qualified instructors in the baby swimming field, our classes are well structured and progressi...ve with lots of new skills and challenges every week. Our programme’s endorsed by the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association), who are England’s national governing body for swimming. started when our daughter turned 11 weeks both me and my partner attend together (him doing the lesson) we look forward to our Sunday swim each week we are nearing the end of chapter 4 and can't wait for the next chapter. love watching my girl grow with confidence each week and being so happy in the water. id also like to thank our instructor VJ at birtenshaw does a great job and that dingal dangle scarecrow dance is hilarious �

Theo and myself have been doing water babies lessons for about 18 months. Can't beat it for development and water safety. Theo has come on in leaps and bounds since joining water babies. Wonderful staff who are passionate and very helpful when I need flexibility in our lessons x

Our daughter Laila absolutely loves swimming at Waterbabies (as does daddy!), she has been at Springwood from 5 months old, now almost 3. Waterbabies classes has done wonders for her not only in the pool, but with her social skills, making her into a confident fearless sociable little girl. We cannot praise the staff both in and out of the pool for their friendly attitude which seems to be the ethos at WB HQ, we can't say enough good things about them!!

My son has been attending classes since he was 8 weeks old, he's now 15 months and so confident in the water and can even swim a little on his own! We love Waterbabies ��

My son Raphael has being doing Waterbabies for the past 5 months and he absolutely loves it! He has come on in leaps and bounds and now loves going under water jumping in at 21 months old. Great experience

My little fella started at 8 weeks and unfortunately had to stop due too his ears but at the age of 2 and a half I got in touch with waterbabies explained what happened and that I wanted to come back, they put us back into a class that suited him we had a slow start but he has now turned that corner thanks to kitty who he loves seeing now. Would highly recommend the team. �

My little boy started at 9 weeks old and we have just finished chapter 1. It's amazing how much he has learnt already and he really loves his swimming on a Saturday. Best money I have ever spent! Would definitely recommend water babies and we cant wait to watch my son grow in confidence and skill throughout the other chapters ���

My little boy has been with water babies since he was 8 weeks old and he’s now 27 months. So confident in the water, and more importantly knows how to get himself to the side of the pool and climb out. It’s such an amazing experience watching him grow into such a fantastic little water baby, and our teacher Nic is just fab! Would highly recommend!

My little boy has been swimming with Water Babies since he was 9 weeks old. It was and still is the highlight of our week, he gets so excited when we pull up outside the pool on Thursday mornings. Our teacher Jo is fab and the songs and characters are great fun. We fully intend to complete all 17 chapters!

My l'il girl has done Waterbabies in Bolton since she was 6 months & is now nearly 4 & a very strong swimmer, not scared of jumping in or going under the water & absolutely loves her lessons. Now started baby no 2 with teacher Sam, who is brilliant at explaining everything & the reasons behind the techniques we learn. Definitely recommend Waterbabies!

Lydia loves swimming with Water Babies and Fiona is a Fantastic teacher and has helped us through some ups and downs, what a great way to learn to swim and have fun at the same time. Would definitely recommend to people :-)

Joining waterbabies was always something I wanted to do, even before Luca was born! We started when he was eight weeks old and I think it has to be one of the best things I've done! Luca absolutely loves going to his swimming lessons! We have had moments where I have thought 'is this worth carrying on?' Where he has had off weeks but down to the support and encouragement of the teachers we carried on I'm so glad we did because Luca has grown so much in confidence! So much so that this week I had to keep him from swimming off from me because all he wanted to do was go swimming on his own! He's two! He always has a great big smile on his face now! I now feel confident enough that when we go away in the summer, he will be safe around the pool! I can't recommend Waterbabies enough!!

I take my 6months old Jude to Thursdays at Prestwitch he's just finished his chapter 1 and completed the super heart splashathon today. It's an amazing company so organised and very well thought out lesson. Want to thank our instructor Sam at Prestwitch she does an amazing job and my son loves going to her lessons �x

Bobby started with Water Babies at 5 months old my only regret is that I didn’t start him earlier, he loves his Thursday swim days with Sam at Whitefield he’s just started chapter 6 I’m so happy I chose Water Babies Bobby’s super confident in the water and I can’t thank Sam enough for this xxx

Best baby class by far!!! We love it so so much and Tuesdays are definitely our favourite day of the week now :-) x Sam is soooo lovely with the babies and really does make every effort to ensure everybody feels comfortable and confident in what we are doing :-) x we started back in April when Harry was just 8 weeks old and he absolutely loved her from the off :-) x i could not recommend these classes enough :-) x x x
