At first glance it looks like an aquanatal class, but the fact is it is much more than that: in short, we are here to help women through their pregnancy and beyond. Our programme consists of pre-natal classes in the pool to help women cope better with the many demands of pregnancy, while at the same time preparing them for the birth itself.
So why WaterBumps? • We tailor what we do to your individual needs and stage of your pregnancy week by week. • Our focus is on strengthening, toning and helping with pregnancy conditions. • We offer wraparound care for you – physical, mental and emotional. • Four fundamentals of our classes – breathing, pelvic floor, “hoolas” and relaxation. • We provide techniques for pregnancy, labour birth and beyond. We’re part of the Water Babies family so know how beneficial being in the water can be!
When can I start? From 12 weeks pregnant through to birth.
How do classes work? If you enjoy your free taster and want to book in for more lessons you’re very welcome to. You can book in blocks of 4, 6 or 8 weeks up until you’re 37 weeks, then you just book one at a time.
Classes at Derriford are £13 each (the water is that bit warmer so class time is reduced for your comfort) Classes at St Mellion are £15 each.

We attended the Birth Partner Class on Tues 12th June at Dyke Road. It was great to do something together and show my other half what I've been doing at Waterbumps classes. Toni gave some insightful hints, tips and advice especially as this is our first baby - we came away feeling relaxed and armed with lots of extra knowledge. Thank you again Waterbumps!
WaterBumps is a brilliant way to help Mums to Be. I’ve been going since I was 20 weeks pregnant, and love it. Vicki is a fantastic teacher. I have PGP, which it has been great for, and for any exercises that need adapting I’m given alternative instructions as a matter of course. I couldn’t recommend it more highly - it’s one of my favourite parts of the week.
Water bumps is a wonderful session to relax, unwind and meet new friends. Plus you get lots of tips and exercises you can do out of the water to help with aches and pains and prepare you for birth. Definitely recommend.
Water bumps has been great throughout my pregnancy. They tailor the exercises depending on your aches and pains. Feeling weightless, especially in the later stages of pregnancy (I’m now 39 weeks) is amazing. I would recommend to all pregnant ladies!
My husband and I attended the birth partner class last night. It was a great opportunity to do something together and for him to see what the water bumps classes are all about. Toni went through each of the stages of labour and gave us exercises we could do at each part to help. It was very helpful to hear about each stage and we’ve started to think about things we definitely want to include in our birth plan. Overall a great session that we both came away from feeling relaxed and knowing a bit more about what to expect. I would definitely recommend for first time parents to be! �
It is a lovely class and often the time in the week I feel most comfortable. So friendly and relaxing- a great way to make new friends.
I look forward to this every week, it’s a great way to unwind, focus on me and baby and do some exercises along the way to help with aches and pains. It’s also lovely getting to know the other mums to be in my group, and the Waterbumps ladies are brilliant, highly recommend!
I look forward to this every week! It’s such a nice time to forget about work and focus on me and my baby. Plus, as soon as I get in the water I don’t want to get out!!!! It eases all of the aching! My teacher always adds in exercises tailored for me and my babies position too which is helpful. I’d massively recommend!
I absolutely love waterbumps and would be lost without it every week! It gets me through the week and really helps with my hip pain. Would recommend to anyone.

Waterbumps was my favourite time of the week when I was pregnant! Nice relaxing time with Clare and all the lovely ladies!! Now I had my baby girl I can tell that Waterbumps has helped me a lot to go through labour!!! And I can’t wait to go back to the post natal classes!!! Really recommend waterbumps to any mum to be!!!!
WaterBumps class is my favourite time of the week ! It’s so relaxing and I love spending time with just myself and my bump. It’s just the perfect balance of exercise, stretching, breathing and bonding with your baby aswell as having some fun at the same time. I’ve also met some lovely ladies! Clare and Mandy are both fab! 100% recommend.
Water bumps is a great way to relax and stretch any pregnancy aches or pains. Class is run by the lovely Claire who helps adapt stretches to everyone's needs.
Really pleased I found these classes towards the end of my pregnancy. As it's my 2nd pregnancy I am a lot bigger than I was with my first so being able to float around, especially on my stomach is heaven! The classes are gentle and the exercises can provide you with some much needed relief. I also enjoy the breathing exercises and the time with my baby who loves our time in the water. I thoroughly recommend the classes especially for those 30 weeks + or those with joint pain
Love my Thurs evening class. Great teacher, great fellow bumpers and lovely to have some free time to just chill, be weightless and relax whilst learning some helpful exercises. Best bits floating with the lights off and the Mary Poppins bikes. Chill and new friends what more can you want

I look forward to every Thursday! So lovely to stretch and relax in a lovely warm pool and take time to actually bond with bump - it somehow makes it feel more real. Always come away feeling beautifully stretched and relaxed - helped by a fabulous group of supportive ladies and lead by Claire who is brilliant. Slightly top heavy on price but totally worth it! ( started at 20 weeks.)
