Plenty of things to do. If you have a small family, I would highly recommend the wigwams. Our wigwam was able to stay really warm even in October. There are lots of hiking places nearby but not much in the way of towns and things.

We had a wonderful Time at Waterfoot for a few nights . Easy to get to and just a small walk to the Lake. Internet was none existent except for in the mansion so be ready for this but who cares with such beautiful surroundings and a warm welcome and the staff were very helpful and friendly . The site was clean and well kept and we will certainly be visiting again and cant wait to come back ☺

Just come back from a week's stay at Waterfoot on one of the super pitches- the lovely lady who greeted us on the Saturday (1st July) was wonderful and made sure we had absolutely every bit of information about the park and the surrounding area that she could think of.
The pitches are tidy and spacious. The toilet block is pristine clean with spacious shower cubicles and toilet cubicles, so no squeezing in and about or wet clothes when getting out the shower.
The shop is well stocked and the staff are incredibly friendly. We didn't go into the Mansion but it looked spectacular from the outside. Everything is dog friendly on site too.
If I had to pick on anything it would be the lack of dog mess bins on the dog walk towards the lake (watch out for the cow pats too!).
As for the surrounding area - dogs are welcome in most shops in Penrith & Keswick (which is a new experience for us) and there are ample walking routes including a circular of Ullswater lake providing breathtaking views (not least because of the hills!) and a detour to a fabulous Aira Falls experience - make sure you wear tough walking boots for this as it is quite challenging.
All in all, we had a brilliant time on our holidays and will definitely be visiting again - it's rare that I love a site so much I want to return!

A friendly welcome and great couple who run this park and shop, selling all the bits you may need. They are great with the kids and happy to give you all the info you need of the local area. The facilities are clean. You can visit the mansion on site for a book, game of pool, table tennis or a relax with a drink at the bar, but check opening times/days. Just a 10 minute walk into Pooley Bridge and you will find shops and pubs. I would reccomend it. Oh and a playground it 200 yards away but not close enough to hear any noise. Friendly guest on this site.
