Stayed here for a week, a fantastic location with loads to do nearby and great facilities. Enjoyed the stay very much, the lodge we stayed in was pretty basic but had everything we needed for the week and a few things we didn't expect like a clothes iron and DVD player for the TV. The room could have been cleaned better, we had to give it a once over with the brush and mop to get up all the dust and grass off the floor. If you're the type of person that checks on top of the cupboards for dust this probably isn't the place for you. But other than that it was as expected. Reception and bar area are good and staff are helpful and friendly. The pool (I only used the indoor one) and spa pool are ideal for the size of the site. Overall giving Watermouth Lodges four stars, could be improved by giving the lodge a deep clean.
We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 year old daughter and we had the most amazing time! The lodge was wonderfully clean and we had everything we needed. Although fully booked when we stayed it was so peaceful and we all slept really well. The facilities were fantastic and our daughter loved the pool, indoor and outdoor playground and we enjoyed drinks outside by the outdoor pool and lovely food. We loved it so much we have already recommended to family and friends and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely short break!
After reading some of the previous reviews on different sites, I was really worried about our weeks stay but tried to keep an open mind.
My family of four (including our 4 year old and 15 month old) stayed for a week in Sea view Lodge. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The lodge doesn't look that big from the outside but inside was very big, spacious, warm and inviting. Bedrooms were lovely and big. Our bed was so comfy, We didn't want to get out of it.
We had a wet room (ensuite) which was handy but we decided not to use it after the second use as the water was so slow to go down the drain it flooded the bathroom (hence why I think they changed it into a wet room) plus a big Jacuzzi bath which was brilliant for the kids and the Jacuzzi tub outside was a bonus!
Over all the lodge was perfect for a family of 4 (sleeps 6) if I was to pick up on things and be a bit fussy there was quite a lot of dust in the lounge by the tv and the whole lodge did smell of damp but I do think this is because of the wet room.
We read a lot of reviews about no Wi-Fi, we had Wi-Fi in our lodge and there are Wi-Fi huts to pop into (no phone signal at all). watermouth castle is a 2 minute walk away which is really handy for a day out. The restaurant on site is really good value for money and the food was pretty good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Indoor swimming pool was perfect for our children and the indoor & outdoor play area. Will definitely be booking another week here next year.
Worst customer experience ever!!
After staying for 3 days with my ethnic husband and friend with a white car. My husband left early to drop our friend to the station while I waited for my caucasian elderly parents in a blue car to pick me up, as they had my dog and were staying elsewhere.
3 hours later my husband received a phone call where the opening statement was 'Do you want to come back and pay me for the 2 dogs you had in the lodge that were not meant to be in there!'
Whilst explaining calmly the miss understanding we were accused of shouting and being rude, the lady then decided she was wrong, rather than soften her voice and apologise she decided the best customer service would be to shout at us and then hung up.
We decided to ring back and offer to go back as were we still in the area but she decided again shouting at us was the best way forward.
I am impressed the staff had noticed the two dog my parents had, as they they only got out of car to have a quick wee. What they failed to notice was the change car colour, 40 year age difference of guests and the skin colour difference of their guest. Rather than ring and ask for an explanation they went straight for accusation.
We will NEVER be staying in this venue again and neither will any of the other wedding guests that have occupied many of their lodges over the last few days.
Not even an apology! Disgusting.
Great place to stay and just aross the road from a fabulous walk
We managed to get a great last-minute deal here. The facilities are excellent, there's an indoor pool, soft play for little ones, a tennis court, restaurant and even an outdoor pool for when the weather's nice.
The lodge itself was a little dated but everything was clean and working. I really couldn't ask for more considering the price.

Very clean and well equipped lodge. Lovely and warm and cosy! Great location. Pool and spa were an added bonus. Would recommend!
