You are, apparently, only as good as your staff.

Front of house and kitchen staff are superb. Great meal, impeccable service.

Went here for the first time saturday..had a meal that i shared with my daughter of large veggie Pizza, garlic bread , chips and olives and it was a bargain £20 ..tenner a head for a very substantial meal and it was delicious..staff were lovely..would reccomend a visit.

We booked a table for lunch at The Waterside as we were going to the Totnes Canoe Festival, and it’s always nice to have lunch here.

As ever, although very busy, the service was excellent, the food first class and the atmosphere perfect. My favourite eatery in South Hams, Devon (maybe even England). 😊

Just finished their scrambled egg on toast & it was fantastic! The big breakfast looked amazing as well :) very happy customer

It's a very nice place to sit outside and enjoy a drink, be it coffee or an alcoholic one, by the river and in the beautiful Town of Totnes

I had the polo pizza (chicken, mushrooms & pesto) It tasted as good as it looked, really enjoyed the homemade experience. My hubby had the falafel burger & fries, which he also said was really tasty. Would certainly recommend the Waterside Bistro

I was talking about it with my 11yr old today. She had pizza last night.

"It wasn't like other pizzas. They didn't just cram it* on, they crammed it on with style. How did they get it to taste like that?"

*It being the toppings for the Hawaiian pizza.

...and thanks for letting us bring our dog. He enjoyed resting under the table.

Fab meal here on Saturday night with our family and 2 year old grandson . Food was fab , great service and couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful with our toddler grandson. We’ll definitely be back.

Our food, pizza for hubby and mixed meats with fries for me, was good. My vino especially was chilled to perfection. I will most certainly visit here again. The only downside is...having our little dog with us we sat outside and of course so do those individuals who smoke.

Lush food as always, beautiful steak with red wine gravy. Would of liked a little more of the dauphinois potatoes but it was all yummy. Disappointed to not being asked if we would like a pudding.

Husband and I had lunch, ordered the steak pie. Mine was ok, hubbies pie dry and meat tough. Have had better there. Waitress removed one meal from the bill. Staff are excellent and service good, even on busy days..... usually enjoy our meals there so will return.

Apart from a wine glass covered in lipstick it was very nice, good food nice location

Nice soup, little bit of bread. Nice crumble but such a small amount. Came away feeling hungry and out of pocket. Very expensive considering the tiny portion size!!! You pay for the privilege of the location. If you have a good appetite then don't eat here.
