Not Another Book Podcast is brutally honest, nuanced, and witty. The... show is the third podcast to launch from the ShoutOut Network’s ‘Next Generation of Voices’ lineup. Hosted by BooksAndRhymes, bookshybooks and PostColonialChild, the trio want to help the publishing industry evolve and shape what future literature critics look and sound like.
Their special guest for this live recording is Tomi Adeyemi, author of Children of Blood and Bone - an epic fantasy with an eye toward the reality of contemporary racial and socioeconomic power dynamics, drawing upon African history and mythology to tell a story of characters contending with colour, status and they want to be defined in a culture of fear.

After graduating Harvard University with an honors degree in English literature, she received a fellowship that allowed her to study West African mythology and culture in Salvador, Brazil. When she’s not working on her novels or watching “Scandal,” she can be found blogging and teaching creative writing. @tomi_adeyemi

Join us as we celebrate the publication of Gill Sims' highly-anticipated sequel!
Why Mummy Swears continues the story of Ellen and her charmingly dysfunctional but wholly recognisable family as they begin the school summer holidays. Daddy is constantly off on exotic business trips. Boy Child Peter is connected to his iPad by an umbilical cord and Girl Child Jane is desperate to make her fortune as an Instagram lifestyle influencer. Mummy has found herself a new challenge, wor...king for one of the hottest new tech start-ups, which occupies a sexy, glossy glass office block full of light and space and beautiful people. But not only is she worrying if, at forty-two, she could actually get up off a bean bag with dignity, she’s also somehow (accidentally) rebranded herself as a hot, single party girl who works hard, plays hard and definitely doesn’t have children...
Gill Sims is the author of Why Mummy Drinks, which was the bestselling debut hardback novel of 2017 and has spent a staggering 30 weeks and counting in the Sunday Times Top 10. Gill’s much anticipated and equally hilarious second novel Why Mummy Swears is out on 12th July.

Come to meet Liam Young and learn more about Momentum's creation and policies and how the young of Britain are creating a New Socialism!
When Jeremy Corbyn decided to stand for the Labour leadership in 2015, Liam Young - then just 19 years old - knew this was a watershed moment for the party and for young people across the country. He joined Corbyn's campaign and was soon writing for the Independent and the New Statesman, explaining how the new leader would energise the youth vote and bring forward a new kind of politics. While many commentators questioned Corbyn's actions, Young wrote about how his policies w...ould work and be hugely popular. He harnessed the power of social media and is emerging as one of the most influential voices on the left for his generation and beyond.
Join us as we welcome Liam to Bristol to discuss his book Rise, an insider account of how the youth movement in the Labour Party galvanised a nation and a manifesto for the future addressed to anyone who believes it should be possible to create a better Britain.

Thank you so much to the lovely lady working in this store today. You were a shining star following my little boy's coughing fit which culminated in him vomiting all over me from chest to knees. I really appreciated your kindness and the provision of water and half a ton of paper towels. Many thanks.
Stood 4 hours in a queue to meet Bruce Dickinson. The staff were great. Friendly and up for a bit on banter. My only complaint is drinks were taken to the queue outside but those inside (at the front) had been queuing for longer and were only offered a celebration chocolate.
Queued and waited 4 hours to see Bruce Dickinson yesterday( well worth it ). Staff were fantastic and joking along with us.
Love this place, knowledgeable sales staff happy to recommend books, suggest ones suited to bookclubs or just share their recent reads. Good selection of board games and a fab cafe.
I would just like to say the staff who work for Waterstones are always lovely. Today Ed has really gone out of his way and helped me with the perfect Christmas present.
Thank you Ed so much . You are an absolute star . Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year .
I want to specifically thank the lovely lady who was working in the cafe today. I walked into the cafe in a bit of a meltdown. I had two kids on me, the youngest of whom is 10 months and was screaming the store down. I was frazzled and stressed, and she took one look at me and asked if I was okay. I was not okay and burst into tears. This kind, lovely, warm hearted woman told me to go and sit down and she would bring everything over. She suddenly made everything okay. Told me she'd been there, and that it was okay. Came over and made sure that I was okay and did I need anything.
Basically, just wanted to make sure that this woman gets the recognition that she deserves. Thank you again xxxx
Great staff, wonderful cafe and excellent stock!
Will be visiting more often.
Great place-well laid out shop and a great amount of books.
Great place to do work with very friendly staff - although easy to get distracted by the brilliant selection of books!
Exceptionally good value for money with excellent choices. Their staff are extremely helpful!
Cafe is lovely, great for young children. We even bought a few books
An absolutely wonderful place to look for new books, read books, and browse the book shelves.
A welcoming and friendly atmosphere with a great, efficient and friendly staff who are always willing to help.
The cafe is lovely with a great range of food and drink and places to sit down.
Amazing place, seriously. I was astonished by the variety of the books
Amazing Waterstones! There's sofas and armchairs to sit and browse. The new refit has lightened the place and the Waterstones café has a great range of teas - much calmer atmosphere than other coffee shops (and there's also usually space!). They put on some great events, I've managed to attend a few and meet one of my favourite authors!
I looked for Japanese books by "Teru miyamoto". But I couldn't find it... Please stock for the next time!
