BIG Congratulations @tayari @WomensPrize for fiction WINNER 2019 'An American Marriage' is the moving portrait of a young African American’s wrongful incarceration, and its devastating impact on his marriage. We have this one in stock @WaterstonesEHS and I can't wait to read it.

Here's what our Ro @WaterstonesEHS is reading. James Ellroy's 'This Storm'. Ro is very 'to the point' and here's what he said about it. 'It's very good. Very James Ellroy' Anyone who knows Ro will confirm that this is a 5 Star review from him. Just to add a little more, it's a cinematic historical crime novel.

Not book related but #Exeter related. If you get a chance, go and see @AmelieMusical #ExeterNorthcott I watched it on Monday night and it was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ of brilliance. The cast, the songs, the set, the performances. It was funny and moving. Couldn't have loved it more @abrissonj

Award for 'The most positive customer of the day' goes to............................. The lovely man who told me he had gone for his 1st bike ride of the year yesterday at the quayside, accidently cycled over broken glass, lost balance, toppled into the quay and now needs new tyres. He said 'at least it was funny' 😄

User

Here's what our lovely Tracey @WaterstonesEHS is reading. Andrew Miller's 'Now we shall be entirely free'. Tracey's a voracious reader&enjoying it so much, last night she planned to stay on the bus an extra circuit to finish it (she may even still be on that bus). Think Poldark era/historical thriller @SceptreBooks

What's that sound? Is it the sound of SIGNED EDITIONS of Katherine Rundell's 'The Good Thieves' arriving back in stock after being sold out? IT ONLY BLOOMIN IS. Think old New York, gangsters & a wrong that needs to be set right. Do not underestimate Vita Marlowe @KidsBloomsbury

Speaking of football...&books. After the final there was a brill documentary 'State of Play' (I'm sure many sat quietly on their settee's watchin with cups of tea... ahem) If you enjoyed it read the book @CalvinBook This is a fascinating&fresh look at the beautiful game @arrowpublishing

User

I'm sure everyone noticed there was a little football on last night #ChampionsLeague2019 If you want to read more about the hero, the legend, the ever charming Jurgen Klopp (who wouldn't want to, he's brill) take a look at Elmar Neveling's 'Jurgen Klopp' biography @LFC #ynwaِ ❤️

Oh no I've opened an umbrella indoors. Does it still count as unlucky if it's for display purposes? 😟

On a seemingly ordinary Thursday. We opened our book delivery, and there, acting all casual, as if it wasn't something special, was Katherine Rundell's new book 'The Good Thieves'. 😲When a new Rundell arrives it is no longer a regular day. It is a day when magic has entered the building @BloomsburyBooks (was that dramatic enough?)

User

Stuff to do today 1. Be excited about new Books of the month ✔️ 2. Be incredibly excited about Champs League final ✔️ 3. Find one mouse and one umbrella for window, Partial✔️ 4. Anyone who has watched the @RealBobMortimer and Paul Whitehouse show 'Gone Fishing' will understand why I'm saying this about the book. It is joy. Joy in book form. It's not only about fishing, it's about life, time and friendship. It's informative, funny and a complete JOY.

Chris Joke 'How do you get Pikachu on the bus?' 'Poke him on' COME ON. That's how you start Thursday afternoon.... Anyone who wants to claim a free joke with their book today, you need to say to your bookseller, in hushed tones 'I hear Chris is giving away free jokes'. &we'll sort one out for you.

Fancy an argument? Then I recommend James O'Brien's 'How to be right...in a world gone wrong'. This is a hilarious guide for the perpetually enraged. Insightful, invigorating and very funny. @EburyPublishing
