Did you hear..? We're hosting an evening with Sally Rooney in September to talk about her fantastic upcoming novel, Normal People.
Rooney has been described as one of the freshest and most experimental voices in fiction of the past few years.
Make sure you don't miss out on what is going to be an absolutely excellent discussion of all things fiction in 2018.

Come and meet the star of Comedy Central's hit show Impractical Jokers James Murray -alongside veteran sci-fi and horror writer Darren Wearmouth- as they sign copies of their new novel "Awakened" in which a beautiful new subway line in New York City unearths an ancient dark horror that threatens the city's utter destruction and the balance of civilization itself.
After years of waiting, New York's newest subway line is finally ready, an express train that connects the city w...ith the burgeoning communities across the Hudson River. The shining jewel of this state-of-the-art line is a breathtaking visitors' pavilion beneath the river. Major dignitaries, including New York City's Mayor and the President of the United States, are in attendance for the inaugural run, as the first train slowly pulls in.
Under the station's bright ceiling lights, the shiny silver cars gleam. But as the train comes closer into view, a far different scene becomes visible.
All the train's cars are empty.
All the cars' interiors are drenched in blood.
As chaos descends, all those in the pavilion scramble to get out. But the horror is only beginning. High levels of deadly methane fill the tunnels. The structure begins to flood. For those who don't drown, choke or spark an explosion, another terrifying danger awaits-the thing that killed all those people on the train. It's out there...and it's coming.
There's something living beneath New York City, and it's not happy we've woken it up.

Went to Waterstones in Leeds for Bruce Dickinson's book signing. The queue was already down the street and round the block when I got there an hour and a half before it was due to start! Staff were great though, kept everyone informed and were efficient and friendly throughout. Must have been hard to organise but I got to meet one of my heroes so thanks to all involved.
Well managed book signing for Bruce Dickinson staff kept you informed of what was going on. Despite the queues they enter down without too much waiting.
The café has a good range of drinks and a great selection of cakes
So cozy!................................
My favourite place in Leeds. Cosy, coffee available inside, lots of snugly places to explore the books and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
Lovely shop which has a very large selection of books yet feels very quiet and cosy. I went to see a discussion with Ruby Wax there and it was a brilliant experience. Staff were lovely and the little cafe on the middle floor serves lovely coffee :)
Love this Waterstones. Well stocked and runs some nice little events. Been to a quiz and a signing now, both of which were enjoyable. Hope it continues!
It's great shop friendly staff love that you can have a drink while reading a book in relaxing chairs
It is a really lovely place. I loved the staff. It has a cafe inside. Good prices.
I had a joint event there with Louise Beech, organised by Saad there. Everything went really well! Beautiful store and great staff
Great staff, excellent events
Great for a book mooch, and the coffee shop on the second floor is excellent. It's a quiet oasis away from the hustle of Leeds.
Great bookshop, great staff
Everything you would need to be in heaven books and great coffee
Even though I arrived quarter of an hour after the Bruce Dickinson event started I was glad that I managed to get in. The staff were all professional at their jobs, from the security staff making sure everyone had copies of the book, sorting out the dedications, keeping people informed about not blocking the entrance to the store, but what really won it for me was when my book had been signed I went away to see the photo of the moment to find... nothing! I checked through my album, but there was nothing. So I raised it with the staff and they were so good at making sure I didn't leave empty handed that I almost felt guilty for breaking the "no posed photo" rule, but I can't thank the staff enough for making sure that I was able to have a photo after the first effort didn't save.
Book heaven! Definitely not my last visit.
Had a very pleasant ('tho a little tepid) coffee with my daughter today; I love Waterstones 'thing'......and always a relaxed and considerate environment with an eclectic mix. Thank you, sure we'll be back (might send the coffee back tho 😮). x
Only been in there a few times nearly always busy
Food poor, sausage sandwich cold and chicken fajita wrap cold in middle.
