Huge congratulations to Tayari Jones for winning the Women's Prize for Fiction with her novel An American Marriage!
"Hinging on the devastating fallout from a young man's incarceration, An American Marriage drives a stake through the heart of the modern American Dream. An insightful and moving depiction of middle-class, African American life that interweaves themes of identity, class and broken expectation, it is a resounding triumph." - Waterstones.com

To celebrate Pride Month πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ, Bookseller Amy wants to recommend to you a book she considers to be a future classic - Tin Man by Sarah Winman.
Ellis and Michael are inseparable, but when they meet Annie, their lives change forever.
Amy says: "Winman's book discusses bisexual relationships and is a tender story about love, loss, and childhood friendships. Although it is a short book, it is extremely powerful."

Jeanette Winterson's Frankissstein has finally arrived!
Currently receiving rave reviews in the papers and across social media, The Observer describes the book as: 'A book about artificial intelligence and gender fluidity that also harks back to themes Winterson has been writing about for the past 30 years: love and desire, transformation and the unwritten meanings of the body.'
A Frankenstein retelling for Brexit Britain about the bodies we live in and the bodies we desire.

Here in Meadowhall we are all sad to hear that Judith Kerr has died. She brought us the much loved The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Mog, and When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit. She is many people's favourite childhood author and we are sure her work will inspire future generations.
