About Watford General Hospital

Watford General Hospital is a 521-bed acute District General Hospital in Watford, Hertfordshire, operated by West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust along with Hemel Hempstead General Hospital in Hemel Hempstead and the St Albans City Hospital in St Albans.
It was formed at the foundation of the National Health Service of the buildings which were formerly the Watford Workhouse. In August 2012 Kier Property was selected to build the development.
The hospital is served by buses 10, 320 and 322 to Watford town centre and other places. A new road will be built to connect the hospital to the M1.
