School holidays are back upon us next week (that seems a fast term) and so are the craft activities at Weaver Hall Museum and Lion Salt Works. Starting Tuesday 2 April and Wednesday 3 April 10:30am-12:30pm and then at 2-4pm, Lion Salt Works is holding Sprouting Spring with lots of fun activities to celebrate the start spring. Wednesday 3 April and Thursday 4 April 10am-4pm at Weaver Hall Museum its time to paint, hide and find some rocks in the museum grounds. Activities are £2 per child at each museum

Little Lions is every Friday during term-time 9:30-11am. Come and join our Early Years Explorer Club at Lion Salt Works, aimed at ages 2-4 (younger siblings welcome). Through sensory exploration, art and craft activities, stories and songs, we will look at how our local landscape changes as winter passes into spring, and how this affects plants and animals. Bring your old clothes – things might get messy.

Signs of Spring: Photography Walk & Workshop Saturday 16 March 11am-4pm. £20, pay on the day or online at www.derekrandallphotography/workshops.
Take advantage of the fantastic biodiversity of Northwich in this mainly field-based session at Lion Salt Works. The season’s change brings a wealth of subjects that can be explored through your lens. This session will use the arrival of spring to explore effective visualisation and image-craft. The walk and workshop are suitable for all levels of ability and equipment, including your camera-phone. So if you are more of a spontaneous photographer or prefer to use other types of camera, then this course is ideal.

On Tuesday 5 March Lion Salt Works Museum will open a unique exhibition called ‘Wartime Industry and Working Women in Cheshire, 1914-1950’. The exhibition is based on stories, documents and photos shared by the dedicated women who kept the county going during both World Wars. It re-creates the human stories behind what life was like for the women left behind and their legacy. The exhibition will be open until 27 May and is subject to the Museum’s normal entry charges.
