Wem & Prees Medical Practice

📱💻✈️☀️ From July, 25% of Wem & Prees Medical Practices appointments will be available to book online through the patient access website or app. If you have not yet signed up to patient access please request an application form from reception. Not only can appointments be booked through this service but patients can also order repeat prescriptions and view their detailed medical record which includes allergies, immunisations, medical history, documents and more.
As long as you have an internet connection this service can be accessed anytime from anywhere so if you are travelling or out of area you can still take advantage of this service. For further information please speak to a member of our reception team.

Join us on 1st June to participate in Shrewsbury Parkrun. Walk, jog, or run along side some of our GP's and practice staff from Wem & Prees Medical Practice. Fun for all ages, buggies and dogs welcome. Please visit the Parkrun website for further information. We hope to see you there!

Wem & Prees Medical Practice would like to apologise to patients for the technical difficulties we experienced earlier in the week with our telephone system.

Following on from our earlier post, unfortunately the phone lines are still down at both sites. If you feel you have a life threatening emergency please dial 999, for urgent medical advice please ring 111 or use the 111 online service.

We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties with our phone lines. Calls cannot be connected into the surgery nor can we make outbound calls. We apologies for the inconvenience and our phone provider are looking into this as a matter of urgency. We will update this post once the phones come back on.

👩‍⚕️👏🗞 Wem and Prees Medical Practice would like to announce that Dr Alice King has now joined us as a GP Partner. She will be holding 6 surgeries a week in Wem.
Dr King has been with the practice for just over a year and was previously a salaried GP.

Dr Jim Bartlett will be retiring from clinical practice and will be leaving the surgery at the end of the year to take up a post as Associate Postgraduate Dean for GP Education in Bath. His last working day at our Wem surgery will be Thursday 27th December and his last day in Prees is Friday 28th December. We would like to wish Jim all the best in his future role and he will be sadly missed by all at Wem & Prees Medical Practice.

📅👩‍⚕️🤒 Flu Clinic Saturday 10th November, 08:30 - 14:00pm Please book an appointment via reception. This is for all eligible patients aged 18 and over.

⛔👩‍⚕️📅🚶‍♂️⛔ Due to the overwhelming success of the walk-in flu clinic held in Wem yesterday we unfortunately have to cancel the walk-in clinic arranged for Friday 19th October. We will be arranging more sessions in November when we receive our next delivery of flu vaccines. We apologies to those patients who have not yet received the vaccine and will update our facebook page and reception screens with new clinic dates once delivery has been confirmed. Text messages will also be sent to those who have a mobile number against their medical record.

👩‍⚕️💉📅 Our recent flu clinics and walk-in sessions have been extremely successful. As a result we have used all our flu vaccines for patients aged 65 and over. Our next delivery will be towards the middle of October so we will be holding extra walk-in sessions towards the end of October. Please look out for dates via our reception screen, facebook page and on our website.

💻📱📆💊 Patient Facing Services is a great way to book an appointment, order repeat prescriptions and check your medical record while on the go. All this is available online using a personalised log-in which you can access from anywhere in the world. Many of our patients have already signed up to this and enjoy the benefits of ordering prescriptions from the comfort of their homes, viewing medical information while on holiday and booking appointments out of hours. You simply need to complete a request form which can be obtained via our reception, select which services you would like to be able to view and complete the registration process.

👩‍⚕️🤧🤒👩‍⚕️ Are you eligible for a flu vaccination? Clinics are being held at both surgeries on Saturday 22nd September – You will be able to book an appointment for these clinics after 27th August. There will also be walk-in clinics available at the Wem surgery between 24th & 28th September – no appointment necessary just let reception know you are here for a flu vaccination and the nurse will see you.
