The Women's Institute "Show The Love" campaign (highlighting the need for action on climate change) was in full force last night at our monthly Craft Club at the The Drayton Court Hotel
We set about making green heart badges ready to send to our MPs, friends or just to keep for ourselves. It was lovely to see everyone putting their own individual stamp on each one. We even had a butterfly instead of the usual bee! And why not!!

Want to join us next week on Tuesday 18th to make your own Show The Love bumblebee badge? Sign up here! https://docs.google.com/…/1EwG0Pf4dgi3A fwuKYu-KV4V9XaTZhWB…/
As usual we'll be the Drayton Court from 7:30pm until 9:30, bring along some scissors and a biro or soft pencil - we'll provide the rest of the equipment, and this session is free as it's mostly using up stuff we have laying around! You've got until Saturday to let us know if you're coming (so we can make sure there are enough supplies for everyone) and we'll send out some.more details over the weekend.

Come and join us for the quiz at the Star ⭐️ and Anchor ⚓️ tomorrow, Tuesday 4th February from 7:30. The quiz starts around about 8:30, it's a bargain £2 to enter, and we've got a £30 bar tab thanks to a skin-of-the-teeth win last month. See you there!

Chair yoga was our January meeting activity this year! Teacher Mehran Ghodsi (who teaches Chair yoga in St Andrew's church, Mount Park road, Ealing) got a bit of a shock when he saw that close to 50 women had turned up for his class. Unfazed, he gently put us through our paces and everyone enjoyed themselves (and stretched themselves!) hugely!
Tea and citrus-themed cake was a welcome reward after the yoga session and before we got on to WI business.

Tomorrow evening is the Christmas-themed quiz at the Star & Anchor, and as we unusually find ourselves without a scheduled WI activity some of us will be heading along. It's £2 to enter, the quiz starts after 8pm but we'll be mooching around from 7:30. Hope to see you there!

Well the Christmas season has well and truly begun! For last night's meeting the hall was decked with (artificial) boughs of holly, the members sparkled, the table groaned with donations for the Food bank, the bluetooth speakers sang out festive tunes and the cakes dazzled. Our Christmas crafting session with Kaye Telford, resulted in some stunning decorations. But more than anything, the evening was filled with jolly good cheer! This was the WI at its best!! Thank you to all who came and made it a wonderful evening!

Are you off to do a big shop this weekend? We're after some very specific donations for the foodbank this month, so we'd really appreciate it if you can grab:
- Dried milk - Dried mashed potato - Cereal bars... - Bags for Life (not the 5p/10p ones, the really strong ones)
Ealing Foodbank have said they always get a lot of Christmas treats and don’t need any more, but the items above will help them provide nourishing, sustaining food for people in crisis into January which is typically a difficult time for them. The Trussell Trust recently reported the biggest increase in demand since their service was established and they depend on our support to be able to help some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

At Craft Club last night we learnt to make little Christmas decoration robins at the Drayton Court Hotel. We all had a great time!

We're delighed to let you know that the lovely Amy has been nominated for RNIB See Differently Award for Campaigner of the Year! Amy is a longstanding West Ealing WI member who talked to us over the summer about her campaigning work, and we supported her proposal for a resolution about disability education. Sadly it wasn't one of the ones selected by the WI for this year, but as you can see Amy's doing exceptional work with her campaign and we're enormously proud of her.

We only went and won the flipping quiz!!! This is a nice recovery after last month's shameful fifth place, and we're helped there by an excellent knowledge of anagrams and Michael Jackson. Please think about joining us next month - it's always lovely to have new people along!

Hello! On Tuesday 5th November we will as ever be heading to the Star & Anchor for a delightful evening of quizzing. It's £2 to enter, all WEWI members are welcome and we'll be there from 7:30!
