West Mersea Oyster Bar

This place serves the best Fish n Chips I've ever tasted.Superb.

Very enjoyable. We had the Colchester oysters followed by the seafood platter all of which was delicious. Good staff enjoyed a laugh.

Food is always tasty and freshly cooked. The staff are all very polite and helpful. We have been here many times and will continue visiting when ever we can. The best sea food you can ever eat. Was served by Joe today who was a true gentleman and extremely polite and helpful. Thank you very much

a nice rough and ready place down on the sea front. Rougham and ready is not a bad term! you get a good wooden table and chairs, there's no ice for drinks and 2 small shared toilets. but what you do get is awesome food. if you like oysters then this is a place to visit. freshly shucked and probably out of the sea that day. plump, succulent with the flavours you crave in this delicacy. seafood sharing platter is delicious. the only very small down side were the cockles were slightly gritty. but everything else lovely. the crab was particularly good. jam packed full of flavour. the table had a variety of mains. all disappeared with haste. crab linguine was very good. but be prepared portion sizes is BIG.
all in all tip top place. dropped a star as no ice for drinks and coffee machine was down. but highly recommended. great service as well.

Five stars. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting with my lady bird. Our first time trying oysters and they were fantastic. Restaurant was very busy but we had booked ahead, great atmosphere and every diner had a smile on their face. Very much looking forward to returning and highly recommend.

First class food and service best place in West mersea keep coming back

The food was great but had to stand in the queue to order for 45 mins. If you sit inside it's waiter service but outside you have to order yourself at the counter. As we visited on a busy, sunny Sunday the queue was long and very slow moving.

Fantastic native oysters, rocks and whitebait. Lovely informal atmosphere. Busy when we first arrived but we ducked out for an hour or so and came back to grab a seat at the window bar. Will visit again, well worth the wait!
