Normally a fan of bury, but the last 3 years this hospital has really gone down hill.
Most (not all) the staff are rude and abrupt. Clearly they don't need the compassion element to their training at this hospital.

Waited in the ED for ages. After seeing a Dr I then waited 3 hours for any pain relief! Sent to the ward to not be admitted properly or have my meds taken. Over 3 days I watched as some staff were rude to patients. Thankfully not all the staff were like this. Some were absolutely lovely.

However on my last day I was told at 9am that I was being discharged. Being discharged on the condition that my pain is controlled using the medication I was on..... only they made me wait all day for their pharmacy to bring up one set of tablets...... The other 3 they decided I didn't need. The Dr had gone home and the ward told me I wasn't their problem anymore as I'd been discharged! So have to go and see my gp- on a Friday night?! Or call 111. So I'm discharged in agony under the condition I'm taking meds that they haven't prescribed for me. Then told to drive back to the hospital tomorrow if I still wanted my medication!!

Waiting times for clinics are rediculous and to make matters worse the car park is an absolute rip off! £12 to park all day. They don't tell you but you can pay £15 for 2 days!! Although this is not advertised.

My husband was extremely well looked after in the day surgery unit. Also had 5 star care in the labour suite and wards

Both parents have had procedures at this hospital and both they, as patients, and family (as visitors) cannot fault this hospital one bit.

Mother passed away in January and I felt that everyone who helped her for her last days where absolutely wonderful.

Very glad to have this hospital as my local and long may it last.

And yes parking is expensive... But hey, better this way than being an atrocious hospital with free parking...

I've finally been discharged.
I just want to walk around, after being in bed almost 3 days!
BUT.... that is nothing on what the nurses put up with daily.
I'm shocked at how they're treated.
The job they do is amazing, and they deserve so much more credit, and pay.
Clearly under staffed, yet the passion for their job keep them going.
I saw nurses, hit, spat at, language was despicable!
The whole time, trying to help you!
They are a special breed of human, I couldn't do it.
The patience and professionalism they display amazed me.
Well done nurses!
We salute you.

I have just been discharged from the West Suffolk after an operation.
I can only speak as I find.
Being on the ward proved to put most airlines to shame. The staff could not do enough to help and support you during your stay and the food was sublime.
As for the operation I never even realized I had had it. I have had more discomfort from a splinter.
Truly, I can't speak highly enough about the West Suffolk Hospital and it's staff and I hope other patients also have a positive experience.

Car park charges shameful. but a nice hospital with mostly helpful staff.

Good hospital. Great caring staff. Shame about the bad car parking policy.

Great experience but like most hospitals they are short staffed. Some things are fast some things are slow. Be patient. Staff very nice and understanding. I hope to go back under different circumstances
