“Smile!” I said to Mike as he held this beautiful Rosewood Wista Field that just arrived. Mike glared at me, and rolled his eyes. Mike is fun.

F I L M F O R D A Y S 📷😻 A rather large restock of film just in! Also a huge Ilford restock came in yesterday - so we’re totally stacked 😼

Terrifically sorry to all of you fanatical Facebook fans for the lack of content on our page recently - in all its filtered glory Instagram seems to have gotten us hooked! For those of you that like to be kept in the know, many of the recent and exciting arrivals are regularly posted on our Instagram story, like this absolutely stunning Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 and Nikon FA 😄 Follow us on @wycameras to get the scoops - speaking of scoops...time to get out in the sun with an ice cream! Have a great weekend all.

Our friends over at Bass & Bligh in Harrogate were broken into this morning. Please watch out for any suspicious Nikon gear being offered for sale in the local area - if it has no charger, is too cheap, or otherwise dodgy - please check what you are buying. With some luck, justice will be served.

DIY digital back prototype- full frame, low cost!

User

We need shelf space and are having a spring clean - so we are offering a rather substantial 25% discount, over three categories of the website - use the code CATSRULEDOGSDROOL at checkout - the sale finishes on Tuesday 3rd so you have all weekend (and then some) to pontificate your purchase :)

User

Just a quick one for Easter hours: Good Friday: 11 - 4 Saturday: As usual 10 - 5:30 Sunday, Monday Tuesday: *Closed* Back to normal on Wednesday :)

Welp, time to break the internet. It's not often you see all these compacts in one place - which one (if any) would you choose, and why?

User

Homeconomy won't be able to 'source' you a 'Contax' but if you need some cleaning products for some spilled 'sauce', they're good 'contacts' to have 😂 My parents have been running this shop for 37 years, hopefully West Yorkshire Cameras will last that long - better start catching up!

User

These two beauties have just come in - Fuji GW690II and the wide GSW690II - £449 each. Ideal as an alternative to a set of weights, an inconspicuous weapon, a rudimentary ship's anchor, or perhaps even a camera. https://wycameras.com/…/medium-…/prod ucts/fuji-gw6909-ii-exc

Gift cards now available online or in-store!

Reskinned and refurbished a couple of tired looking SX-70 cameras and the results have come up looking suitably 1970's :D

Whilst I was on the hunt for compact cameras, I came across West Yorkshire Cameras. Its nice these days to find small independent stores, so I thought I would give them a call to enquire about the a MJU II they had in stock.

Howard was available to run through a description of the camera and although buying film cameras can be a lottery assured me that I was welcome to discuss any problems if I encountered any. He was also able to help with some medium format questions providing me with some honest advice.

As this is an objective review, I think delivery take a little longer than expected, although given we are near the festive period, I'm sure they had lots of orders to fulfil.

Having received the camera today, I was really happy to see that the condition was a lot better than the rated condition on the website and after running test roll through and inspecting, I think the Mju II will be a new fav of mine.

User

Visited West Yorkshire Cameras for the first time this weekend to look at the range of cameras on offer. I was looked after very well by Howard, the proprietor, who gave excellent customer service and who was more than happy to let me look over several cameras in depth.

Very happy with my purchase - my expectations were exceeded in all respects. Already planning my next visit!

There is something very special about a traditional film camera, and the lenses from that era as well. Photography was a slower more deliberate process with manual settings and focus plus the limitations on the number of shots imposed by film. Modern digital SLRs and CSCs blow film out of the water for ease and quality. However that quality is very clinical. Film plus the older lenses produce images that are less technically perfect, but have a character that digital lacks. I am a competitive club photographer, and have found that use of these old lenses, even when fitted to my DSLR produce images that stand out as being different. This tends to score well.

As such I was delighted to discover West Yorkshire Cameras. They have an amazing selection both of film cameras, but also of lenses. I am based in Northern Ireland so ordered online. Dispatch was on the slow side, but the wait was worth it. Despite hating having to wait to get something I have ordered, I will be a repeat customer.

User

Sold a Mamiya to these guys yesterday - Fantastic Customer Service, Very Helpful and knowledgeable in all aspects of cameras. Will be going back very soon!! 5*****

User

Quick, fast and friendly service - they even threw in a free pack of Haribo! What’s not to love!

User

My first order from WYC arrived promptly, was beautifully packed and accompanied by a hand-written note with a pack of Haribo sweeties. What's not to like?..........and even the lens is brilliant for the price. I feel another purchase coming on!

User

My dream shop! Full of beautiful cameras and the staff are very friendly. Can't wait to go back and get my next camera, it's now the only place i will buy from!

User

Just received a lens from WY Cameras today and it looks brand new. Even though there was a tiny hiccup with the ordering and no lens board I still give them 5 stars.

Thanks for the excellent service

User

I recently bought a Pentax M42 50mm f1.4 lens from the website, it arrived rapidly and in better condition than described. Encouraged I bought a Topcon Super D and 100mm lens which Hattie helped me with over the phone. They arrived really quickly, beautifully packaged and the condition was again conservatively described. My only beef is over the Haribos - I'm on a diet and shouldn't have eaten them...

User

I pestered these guys over the phone for about an hour because I didn't have a clue what I were buying. They were super helpful, made sure I got the correct thing and even wrote a lovely little note in the delivery box. Thanks WYC!

User

I ordered a Pentax ME on Wednesday from West Yorkshire cameras (I’m from the area but currently living in Edinburgh). Their website says items are shipped within two working days, and even though I chose first class postage, considering it’s a bank holiday weekend this weekend I expected it wouldn’t arrive until Tuesday. Yet low and behold it arrived this morning, sent Special Delivery! I can only imagine they did this knowing that it’s a bank holiday weekend and wanting to get it to me ASAP. The camera was really securely packaged, came with a leather case, manual and all the batteries necessary even though they weren’t on the listing(!) and there was a hand written note inside and a packet of sweets! These guys REALLY know how to do customer service, I am so impressed and couldn’t recommend them enough. Yet to have a go with the camera but it’s really clean and exactly as described. I couldn’t be happier! Thank you Howard, Hattie and Mike!

User

Great customer service always willing to give advice and help you get the best out of what your buying. Couldn't recommend this business enough

User

Fantastic little camera shop full of bargains and good advice, as a novice this is something you apreciate when you when you know very little, happily recommend to anyone who is looking for non digital equipment.

User

Excellent shop ran by a lovely and extremely helpful guy, really recommend for anyone with a love of cameras!

User

Came across these guys a few weeks back and placed a telephone order with Hattie at 5.40pm after closing shop, she was so helpful and items arrived on Friday. Well wrapped and protected and camera/lens was spot on. Ordered another body online which arrived promptly but had a minor issue. Emailed Howard who was great and sorted everything out without a fuss. So far I've had great customer service and wouldn't hesitate in using WYC again or recommending them.

User

Awesome place and THANK YOU to the staff who were so helpful! I'm a total camera novice and these guys were so great when helping me buy a Christmas gift. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

User

Always really helpful and manage to go out of their way to help in anyway you need. So grateful to them and to have them in such a wonderful building. Will always recommend this place!

User

Super poor customer services... unnecessary arrogant attitude not willing to answer question or help whatsoever. Will definitely never go there again.

User

Nice shop, shame about the disgusting customer service from the arrogant guy that works there. Bought a camera that was described to be in great condition, had to do a 60 mile round trip to return it on Christmas Eve as the lens was full of fungus and front element was loose, to be then made to feel guilty about returning it with no apology, and telling me he could have sold it to another two people like it was us putting him out. Won’t be back!

Merry Christmas you filthy animal.
